was recently listening to joseph campbell youtube clips.. and he made a funny comment about academics who constantly cite and footnote everything they posited in writing as if they were not certain in themselves..needing the approval and affirmation into their writings.. likening them to adolescence.. I think the deeper message was an ownership of self and experience. The change in oneself to die to their adolescent self and take ownership of experience.

The problem is that before feminism, neither men nor women "developed" themselves. Women developed themselves into being a strong, self-reliant, but proud woman, comfortable in her own skin and seeking appropriate justice for herself. Men on the other hand, remained dominant but not developed--the only role model for a man to be is the old, patriarchal stereotype--which of course, is no longer allowed. So what do we got? We have post-feminism, time to make men into strong, post-feminist figures who are comfortable seeking not domination, but justice. Or, something to this effect...

But I think “Curb Your Enthusiasm” is great. Meaning if you are going to be mean like that, go fully into it. Seinfeld’s broad comedy seems weird in retrospect.
