I have no idea this tune had a title.

HELLO FRIENDS. It would be excellent and relieving if you would help nudge our pledge totals to at least the 25% mark by the end of the show. The goal total for this show is rather ambitious. If I do well, it reflects nicely on the entire Give the Drummer Radio stream. So consider that. THANKS!

Belated RIP note, as I've just learned it: Dave Pike has played his last set.
  11:18am Mr C:

Re: Bread. Everything I Own is a great song. my opinion..
  11:21am Dean:

Agreed, @Mr C. Maybe the worst thing about Bread is the name.

Can I just share that I'm sad we've lost Paul Prudhomme? Never had a chance to enjoy his cooking, but I bet he earned his celebrity.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:23am Doug Schulkind:

@Jeff Golick
Embarrassingly, I had not realized Mr. Pike had been still with us.

@Mr C
There is no arguing with facts.

@Dean
I bet the red fish are glad Prudomme's gone. There's just so much blackening one can take.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:24am Webhamster Henry:

I blacken bluefish because I'm a New Englander.
Avatar 11:26am hyde:

Prudhomme was a real giant of food for the 20th century. He did earn his celebrity, too. There's great stuff about him in the book The United States of Arugula.

PS i promise not to badmouth Bread anymore
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:27am Uncle Michael:

Easy Stevie!
  11:28am Dean:

I remember when the blackening trend hit the suburban chain restaurants. It did seem a bit, uh, inauthentic. But you can still find it, at Redondo Beach's Ragin' Cajun, for instance.
Avatar 11:29am still b/p:

Bread takes a terrible beatin' from many fists. Not sure why. Not a fan in particular, but the band and music seem undeserving of so much contempt and lashing in the longer view and RELATIVE to what else was out there in the same zone and period.

re Chef PP -- Heard this soundbite delivered with a happy laugh: "and everybody loved the redfish so much that quickly a fish that had kind of been a trash fish it became so sought after that he was literally responsible through that dish for that entire species almost becoming extinct."

Ho-ho haaaaa!
