I remember a great French station that played great music--but only for 2 hours a day (might have only been one day a week). 	10:21am Torbjørn: Regarding government funding of artists, I would say that there is also a streak of the social-democratic idea from the thirties and out; that art is good and should be for the common people. "Rikskonsertene" is a good example, the state at a central level arranges a series of touring concerts around parts of the country that doesn't see visiting artists a lot. It's a bit strange to see free-form jazz way out in the woods, but it's quite brilliant in a way as well.
