That lizard looks like one of those creatures in Jurassic Park that shoots the goo at Newman
Avatar 8:51am cory:

it's a Jeezus Lizard, right?
  8:52am Listener Robert:

All I know is, it's sooooo cute. I wonder how long it took to train to follow a camera like that. Looks like it's trying to catch flies.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:55am Marcel M:

National Geographic has a very strict training program with all the wildlife they shoot. They capture them for up to a year before releasing them back into the wild to be filmed.
  8:59am Jack:

He's a silly question; Ken, why do you and Jonesy (f'instance) use the British spelling of "programme" as opposed to MAC who spells it American-style: "program"??
  9:02am Jack:

I meant: "here's" a silly question...
  9:02am jan:

I'll tune in later after my wife leaves- She doesn't like music playing in the background.
  9:02am Slazenger:

Now Ken, don't play any crap today.
Avatar 9:02am pierre:

I'm glad Newman is already mentioned so early in the show.

Bonjour Ken and Kenanigans !
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:04am Marcel M:

There is a doorman in my wife's building that looks exactly like Newman... its eerie.

  9:24am Sam:

I got in trouble in high school french class for reciting "Auteuil Neuilly Passy" by Les Inconnus. I listened to the album over and over and memorized the song and did a great job, and she was mad because the lyrics are offensive. Excuse me for learning real french, lady.

I don't think there's any audio from it, but John Guare's play "The House of Blue Leaves" takes place during Pope Paul VI's visit to Shea Stadium. "The day that the Pope came to New York/It really was comical/The Pope wore a yarmulke."

Sorry to bother everyone. While you know, I'm sure, how much I enjoy all your postings - I enjoy the way all of you write, and everything you write, I wonder if you would mind if I made just one little request for advice. I am wondering what gift I might consider giving a beloved thirteen year old boy for his birthday. His gorgeous face radiates goodness and I hope to bring him something special! Now, I know you are a little touchy about newcomers, and I hope you weren't offended. My postings are far from perfect, I know, and if you wish to criticize any of my errors, I won't mind in the least.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:44am crateslinger:

Avatar 10:45am Bronwyn Bishop:

New Half Japanese! Yay!!! :D
Avatar 10:45am Cecile:

no offense taken. I like thinking up gifts.
I would suggest art or writing supplies, or maybe a homemade mix CD. Gift cards with a small gift are also nice. For example, if you get him a certificate for art supplies, put a tiny sketchbook with it. Anything relating to his interests will be really appreciated I'm sure.
Avatar 🚽 Swag For Life Member 10:45am -Ken:

Get him the WFMU cookbook! Or lunch box. That is, if he likes food. If he doesn't like food, get him the WFMU pen or something. And then in 8 years get him the WFMU shot glass!
Avatar 10:49am βrian:

  11:00am ironchefnate:

A 13 year old boy wants one thing and one thing only. To be petted when it's over and told it's ok it happens to everybody the first few times you just have to keep doing it

@Golde, the game Go or iGo or Baduk is one of the oldest games but has more depth of strategy than Chess. A nice club set and a book on Go strategy is what I wish I would have gotten when I was a 13 year old boy. (I didn't discover the game until my 40's when it was too late).

Avatar 11:21am Cecile:

You try to keep them away from the catnip, but it gets em every time.

As a guy, my late two cents on gifts: Past the age of about 18 the only gifts I really appreciate are food and drink.

Trump mix: “China… Shayna… China… Shayna… China… Shayna… China… Shayna… China… Shayna… China… Shayna… ”

It also oddly reminds me of John Schnall's treatment of Charlene
s "I've Never Been To Me"

WH's comment reminds me of DJ Stashu's memorable treatment of "I've Never Been to Me" at the Hoof'n'Mouth a couple of years back.

I concur, Settlers of Catan is good fun, I also played Bang! (a card game) and it was good fun (a little more on the role playing side)
Avatar 11:51am Dan B From Upstate:

Been nice having Do or DIY on Fridays this summer. Can't wait til Vicki comes back - but her upcoming schedule sounds fascinating.
