I play music that is old and that is new. Some of it is digital while some is analog. It is from many different countries; sometimes it is loud and at other times it is quiet.

Howdy do Mayuko!

I wish I could figure out how to sign in to the iPad app...

All the same. Have a killer show!

Hi Mayuko!
  12:04am
JakeGould:

Hello Mayuko! So is that picture from a metal recycling place? I want to say one of the places in the Gowanus.
  12:06am
Dave B:

Don't let those Catholics, Protestants or Jews get you down!
Avatar 12:07am
Mayuko:

Good evening, Dave B, Bronwyn, Jake! Happy to have you all on board! That picture is from a garbage dump near Tokyo which I LOVED. One of the coolest places ever in that area.
Avatar 12:09am
Bronwyn Bishop:

@Dave: Everyone knows it's the Hindus you really have to watch out for.
  12:09am
JakeGould:

@Mayuko: Ahh, garbage dumps! There are “recycling” places near me in Brooklyn I never knew existed. Only a few blocks but like walking through a Max Headroom/Blade Runner world.
  12:10am
JakeGould:

For the record, I just all religions and ethnicities based on the quality of food/drink they provide.
Avatar 12:13am
Mayuko:

Jake, maybe the word recycling place is the right word for this place too! I just don't know the right term. And I heard that this area was once considered for filming location for Blade Runner - or used as a model or something like that. This area is all industrial and called 夜光 = Night Light. Fantastic place!

Dave B:

My understanding is the Zarathsutrians and Baha'i are the real trouble makers
  12:15am

@DaveB: Freddi Mercury was/is a believer in Zoroaster. So I respect that.

What about the flying spaghetti, Dave?!
  12:16am
JakeGould:

I hate that Flying Spaghetti thing with a passion.
Avatar 12:16am
Mayuko:

haha! Ok then flying spaghetti is the worst trouble maker.
Avatar 12:17am
Bronwyn Bishop:

It is, cause the sauce drips on you from above and sometimes meatballs hit you in the head. And no one needs that.
  12:17am
Dave B:

Give pasta a chance...
  12:19am
JakeGould:

I just utterly hate ironic contrarian concepts like Flying Spaghetti monster. By creating an orthodoxy that goes against orthodoxy you still have an orthodoxy.

And on topic: Really liking the set so far. Great work, Mayuko!
  12:20am
Dave B:

All we are saying...

Is give pasta chance
  12:21am

I'm gonna kick back and relax... Happy to have made it for a live set Mayuko-chan. Have a great show and hope to see you soon!

Hi, Mayuko! I wish i could listen longer to this wonderul program, but I find that I'm fading into sleep.
Avatar 12:54am
Mayuko:

uh oh, Gaylord! are you the kind of person who can fall asleep during some brutal noise music live shows?! Thank you for stopping by, though!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:57am
Gaylord Fields:

Not really. I'm just sleep deprived because I was up most of last night doing a huge writing assignment. I could sleep through any noise right now.

Can't wait to hear this archive later!
Avatar 12:58am

Sounds like you're currently going through similar kind of freelancer's battle as mine, Gaylord. Have a good sleep! So happy to have you tuned in, thank you!

I'm with oks. I'd play that first set at my BBQ.
  1:09am
JakeGould:

@Tome: We had fall last year. And spring. It’s not always that bad.
  1:11am
JakeGould:

@Mayuko: Good observation on band names and album/song titles. I have always said I find the way underground arts portrays itself as “weird” and “negative” in naming has always been… Self-defeating?
  1:12am
oks:

@ rw, where is your BBQ? would love to come
Avatar 1:14am
Mayuko:

Thanks all! I feel like that first set somehow helps digesting, so that could be a plus for BBQ. Now I am getting very hungry.

oks, Fullerton, CA. Everybody's invited.

Jake, yah, I just don't see why it often is sorta negative especially since they rather make me very happy. I mean I do understand the urge for destruction but even destruction can be a positive thing.

thank you for your kind words, snake! I will be a regular on Mondays on Give the Drummer Stream, an alt web stream of WFMU from next week! wfmu.org... Hope you can tune in and hang out with me again!
  1:36am
JakeGould:

@Mayuko: For me what is weird is if you hunt for odd videos and movies that are considered underground, even if the films themselves are positive or just creative they will be described as “weird” or “strange” videos. It’s an odd form of anti-marketing I guess. But not my style. I’m more positive to pragmatic in my appreciation of art and creative things.
