Favoriting Hinky Dinky Time with Uncle Michael: Playlist from August 28, 2015 Favoriting

Uncle Michael's avatar View Uncle Michael's profile Favoriting

Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

or is it effect? I always screw that up.

@Lewis: True.

I often throw parsley in my pesto, too. Well, I don't actually "throw" it, but I place it gently in the blender, then grind it to a pulp, er, paste.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:25pm

Pignolis - lightly toasted first. But that might work with walnuts too.

I bought a 3 pound bag of peanuts last week thinking my kids could snack on them since they always love the free peanuts at 5guys. I then found out the only reason they like those peanuts is cuz there's the promise of cheeseburgers and french fries. So now I gotta come up with some other things to do with these things. Been snacking on them myself but hardly made a dent.

One of my early jobs as a kid, 5YO or so, was to pick the peaches from the tree in our backyard, bag 'em up 20 or so to a bag, pack 'em in a red wagon, wheel the wagon around the neighborhood, and sell 'em for a quarter per bag. The neighbors might then reciprocate with samples of the resulting baked goodies.

The movie version of the jukebox musical "Mama Mia" is uneven, and pretty much just for hardcore Abba fans (such as I -- I endorse James's post of the Lester picture), but it had its moments. The rendering of "Winner" is one of them, ending with a helicopter shot that, by me, more than justified the cost of seeing it at the Zigfield.

Everyone liked it but me and Denise. I played well, but the handoffs from singing to playing were ROUGH. I didn't give it enough prep time. It was good enough for a gig or jam, but a spotlight set should be better than that

It is all in the prep. Ask the DJ.
