	1:23pm Mike East: I made pesto a couple weeks back with walnuts...cheaper and easier to find (and typically stocked in my cupboard anyway) and produces the same affect as pignolis.

	1:24pm Uncle Michael: Hello lurkers! Help yourself to refreshments! Pignolas here...thinking about leaving the cheese out.
	1:24pm Dean: @Lewis: True. @Mike East: Agreed. "Effect." I often throw parsley in my pesto, too. Well, I don't actually "throw" it, but I place it gently in the blender, then grind it to a pulp, er, paste.
	1:25pm Webhamster Henry: Pignolis - lightly toasted first. But that might work with walnuts too.
	1:26pm Dean: I've even used almonds in a pinch. But never, ever peanuts.
	1:27pm Uncle Michael: Yes, my nuts will be toasted.
	1:29pm Mike East: I bought a 3 pound bag of peanuts last week thinking my kids could snack on them since they always love the free peanuts at 5guys. I then found out the only reason they like those peanuts is cuz there's the promise of cheeseburgers and french fries. So now I gotta come up with some other things to do with these things. Been snacking on them myself but hardly made a dent.

	1:39pm still b/p: If you can bribe the family into a marathon shelling session, dip or drizzle the nuts in melted dark chocolate and chill 'em to make premium Goobers.
	1:40pm northguineahills: If you ever have too many raw peanuts in a shell, cajun hot boiled peanuts are super easy to make (but take a while to cook), and you can then freeze them and the make a good snack that last a while.

	1:57pm northguineahills: Cajun boiled peanuts are the tits. Normal Southern boiled peanuts are ok. I never understood why they sell them on the side of the road, they don't make good driving food.
	1:57pm Dean: One of my early jobs as a kid, 5YO or so, was to pick the peaches from the tree in our backyard, bag 'em up 20 or so to a bag, pack 'em in a red wagon, wheel the wagon around the neighborhood, and sell 'em for a quarter per bag. The neighbors might then reciprocate with samples of the resulting baked goodies.

The rendering of "Winner" is one of them, ending with a helicopter shot that, by me, more than justified the cost of seeing it at the Zigfield.

I then found out the only reason they like those peanuts is cuz there's the promise of cheeseburgers and french fries. So now I gotta come up with some other things to do with these things. Been snacking on them myself but hardly made a dent.

	1:57pm Dean: One of my early jobs as a kid, 5YO or so, was to pick the peaches from the tree in our backyard, bag 'em up 20 or so to a bag, pack 'em in a red wagon, wheel the wagon around the neighborhood, and sell 'em for a quarter per bag. The neighbors might then reciprocate with samples of the resulting baked goodies.
