August 4, 2015: Egisto Macchi 87th Birthday Tribute
Morricone Island pays tribute to Italian avant-garde/film composer Egisto Macchi (1928-1992) on what would have been his 87th birthday. Macchi's incredible body of work includes over 50 soundtracks for mostly Belgian and French-produced films and documentaries, library production music for the Gemelli and Ayna labels and numerous recordings as a member of Franco Evangelisti's Gruppo di Improvvisazione di Nuova Consonanza which recruited Macchi's close friend and collaborator Ennio Morricone.
