Hi hi hi, @duke. And @kimgland. And congrats on the car, @ljfw!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:31am

@Jeff: Thanks! Getting into a car without unlatching the front door via reaching past the back seat (no driver's-side door handle on the old car) is still sinking in, but I'll get used to it.

Jeff Golick:

Ha, yes, old habits. I look forward to one day not getting false messages from my dashboard ("engine oil low"; "check coolant"; etc.).

Here's what I seem not to take in: if a person BUYS toaster pastries, a person will then EAT toaster pastries.
Avatar 🥁 9:44am

Man does not live by toaster pastries alone. Donuts are also an important part of a balanced diet.

So glad you are digging, @Jesse. Part of the overall "celebrate them while they're alive" mission.
Avatar 11:21am
Jesse K:

Yeah! He's still playing and touring as of a couple years ago I saw him at MIT. It was amazing, he did a small show for maybe 30 scholars where he played some organ stuff and some personal jam sessions with his son from his phone. amazing!
Avatar 11:22am
Jeff J:

Oh man, would've loved to have seen that. Sounds amazing!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:22am
Jeff Golick:

Whoa. You mean he played prerecorded stuff he had on his phone? Or played along with it?
Avatar 11:24am
Jesse K:

He talked about some pieces and played fragments on a roland keyboard he had, but also played some prerecorded stuff on his phone. He did a lot of talking and kind of went into some of his musical philosophies, which was really great.

This is a rare Motown track that Riley is looping and manipulating. It was commissioned by the owner of a disco in Philly. A forward-looking guy, no doubt.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:48am
listener james from westwood:

A disco owner who likes conceptual drone/loop tracks? Hell, I'd do all my work at their bar if they were local.

Ha, @LJFW and @RRN63 - Sadly, I think this breed of owner went extinct by the early 70s. Time to bring back this business philosophy!
