It's funny. When Ornette Coleman died, you couldn't click a show link without hearing another Coleman tribute. Yet very few shows on FMU actually play much free jazz. On the other hand, you constantly hear things on this station that derive their artistic authority from the kind of tape editing and culture jamming that Don Joyce pioneered. He was a hero to me.
