Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:42am
Brian in UK:

Stanley, did you know Peter Nelson did a LH?
Avatar 3:45am
Andy in Berlin:

@ Brian - it was April 13, 2002: Listener DJ (9 year old) Corey Eiferman. He did a return bout about a year later but the magic was gone.
My show was all cassettes, all music that I had recorded off the radio in West and East Berlin in my early years. A lot of which I had no idea what it was. I did however embarrass myself by not recognizing Butthole Surfers but other than that... :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:46am
Stanley:

Brian - I read that on the board on his show. A bunch of records found on a dump I believe.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:47am
Brian in UK:

Andy, I remember recording stuff off the radio om my Dad's reel to reel. Wonder where they fell to earth.

Stanley, probably me repeating myself, ooops.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:50am
Stanley:

Bill, last week, Johnathan called you a legend.
Avatar 3:54am
Bill Mac:

Why would he do a thing like that?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:55am
Stanley:

My earliest recordings were made on a reel to reel with a microphone dangling in front of the teevee listening to Top of the Pops. In fact I put my first disco on at the scout hall with those tapes, aged 13.
Avatar 4:00am
Bill Mac:

My Dad used to record us as kids. There are a few samples of this on the memorial show I did for him back in December 2014. I did a lot of "sketch" recording with my friends in the early 70s. I'll have to burn that era o stupidity before I die, but it was good fun.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:01am
Brian in UK:

That puts in mind of re-recording my copy of Sweetheart of the Rodeo on the reel to reel with the merest delay so there was a slight echo. I though that was so cool.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:01am
Stanley:

Jonathan always speaks from the heart

Danny the Cowbell Player:

Why apologize on behalf of someone's lyrics. Are you going to apologize to everyone for Captain Beefhearts lyrics too?
Avatar 4:14am
Bill Mac:

Beefy is just cryptic, I don't have to dump what he sings.... most of the time...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:16am
Stanley:

When I first heard this I thought it was unlistenable. Now it sounds just normal to me. Great choice, Bill
Avatar 4:17am
Bill Mac:

Thanks for bringing it to my attention, it's been awhile
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:20am
Brian in UK:

To think that he was on Reprise.
Did Wayne Newton ever cover anything off TMR?
Avatar 4:22am
w41:

When he sings "No more bridge from Tuesday to Friday", do y'all understand it as a metaphorical bridge or the card game?
Avatar 4:23am
Bill Mac:

....gimmee dat ole time religion....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:23am

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:00am
Brian in UK:

Bill I wonder if I may be so bold as to ask if you have a copy of Tease Me by Chaka Demus and Pliers. If so Murder She Wrote is a belting track to play.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:01am
Stanley:

Brian, that's a sly request

Hi Looms, thank God you're here
Avatar 5:18am
Andy in Berlin:

@ Brian - a belated response to your question about Wayne Newton, I don't think he needed to cover Cap'n Beefheart, he was in his own way just as surreal.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:24am
Brian in UK:

Bonjour Looms. Is the sun shining where you are?

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:33am
Stanley:

That was nice. There was a time when all I listened to was "world" music. Now I feel out of the loop.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:35am
Brian in UK:

Stanley with the advent of the CD comp, it is almost impossible to keep up with 'world' music. I mean Cambodian psych, you know?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:38am
Stanley:

You're right there, Brian. That's why I mainly focus on extreme experimental avant garde jazz guitar nowadays. But I feel, so, so alone.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:39am
