There are 2 turntables. The record is screw-clamped via a cap to the spindle of 1, so no slippage is possible. The turntables have an electrically-engaged clutch xmission. With it in neutral, Mr. Byrne manually positions the needle to the desired point as he listens. Then when he wants to, he switches the audio output to that needle & engages the clutch at the desired speed. Meanwhile he has the other turntable to do the same on, so no waiting. Meanshile he's also getting advice from someone whose name I forgot as to selection. Of course one or the other of them must also work in the Accu-Play listing, and someone has to mind Jub Jub, the dog.

Then there was my friend David Lindelof (father of "Lost" show runner Damon), long before I knew him, while a college student, used the concept that just a few yrs. later would be used by Mel Brooks as "Springtime for Hitler".
