Might we call that gif a stool sample?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:49pm Jeff Golick:

Hello?...Is this thing on?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:49pm Doug Schulkind:

Way to elevate the conversation, Jeff Golick.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:50pm Jeff Golick:

Been down so long it looks like dub to me.

Steinski! New Show!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:06pm Jeff Golick:

To paraphrase Snoopy, are we talking 9 or IX?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:06pm Jeff Golick:

Or nein...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:06pm Doug Schulkind:

Just to clarify, the program on July 14 is a one-off new mix from Steinski. Following that, a different new show will be joining the stream, airing Tuesdays 3-5p!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:07pm Doug Schulkind:

@Jeff Golick
Nein.

Been a while since I read Romans Nine and Ten

I read the Cliff Notes version: Romans Nineteen

President Obama's op-ed on Title IX in Newsweek from 2012: www.newsweek.com...
  6:31pm Dean:

I do believe we're in for some ELP. Not sure I can handle that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:31pm Doug Schulkind:

Ready to rock it? Actually, I mean rocket...
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:33pm Artie Haywire:

The idea of a field hockey match on Venus once seemed so absurd.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:34pm Doug Schulkind:

In retrospect, I created a pretty silly gif for today's playlist. The problem was the only other Eadwerd Muybridge photos I could find of women looking vaguely athletic — well, they were all naked. And just how would THAT have looked?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:34pm Doug Schulkind:

Progress, Artie Haywire, progress.
Avatar 6:37pm ndbob:

I saw a Muybridge exhibit at the Smithsonian long ago
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:39pm Doug Schulkind:

An old co-worker of mine used to live (maybe still does!) across the hall from Ronnie Boykins Jr., the son of Sun Ra bassist Ronnie Boykins (who we just heard throwing down science on "Rocket Number Nine...."
  6:40pm Jeff g.:

Could you have muy-abridged them?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:40pm Doug Schulkind:

In some research I was doing today, I came across a text that claimed Muybridge was a murderer. Is this true?
Avatar 6:40pm Holly in NC:

Hi Doug and all!
I like the silly gif. And that's with a hard "g" dammit.
  6:40pm Jeff g.:

Please make me stop.

Enjoying this set very much, DJ Doug!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:42pm Doug Schulkind:

Holly in Ninth Carolina!
Of course it's a gif (and not a gif). If I said gif, my daughter would fillet me.
Avatar 6:43pm Carmichael:

She would flay you.
Avatar 6:45pm ndbob:

Heya Holly!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:47pm Gary:

Can't wait to hear new show!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:50pm Doug Schulkind:

Way better than Bobby Flaying me, Carmichael.
Avatar 6:50pm ndbob:

It's funny - I don't consider anything a guilty pleasure, but I do have guilt sometime re music I think I should like but don't - I can recognize that Ornette is great - but I have trouble relating to his music and to a lot of postwar jazz in general.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:52pm Doug Schulkind:

There are no rules, ndbob!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:53pm Doug Schulkind:

I will say this, though. One of my greatest musical pleasures is discovering that I actually adore some music/artist/genre/style that I had previously dismissed. It happens to me a lot.
Avatar 6:56pm ndbob:

@Doug That's happened to me many times too - and I do give postwar jazz a chance - I'm usually here for your jazz oriented shows
Avatar 6:56pm ndbob:

and excellent show Doug!
  6:57pm MrC:

Too short...just tuned in
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:58pm Doug Schulkind:

I have trouble with some post-war jazz, too. Post Iraq War, that is.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:59pm Doug Schulkind:

MrC!
  6:59pm Jeff g.:

Thanks, Doug, for dressing our ears to the nines.

I'll see myself out.
