	12:35pm pacific standard simon: Los Angeles was weird, because there was more than one strong AM top-40 station. KHJ was the leader, but KRLA was popular too. Some songs you would only hear on one or the other, not both.

When I was setting up my first computer, I sampled that sound and assigned it to the "close window" event. The wife got sick of it before I did.

	1:30pm Alex In Illinois: still b/p: It is not as if I owned any of the records enough to know them that well. I was a pre-teen at the time. At one point, there were multiple hits by Paper Lace. It was as if it was the most common band name for DJs to pronounce and repeat and promote at the time. I have heard the song "Signs" many times and used to sing a long with it, but this is the first time I remember ever hearing the name "Five Man Electrical Band". I must have gotten some other group mixed up with Crabby Appleton. When the 1970's came to an end, I was forgetting all of that music.

	1:32pm Stevel: From this era, listening to KIMN Denver, in the car with my mom. The DJ pre-announced Tommy James's Crystal Blue Persuasion by saying "Here's a song about a guy named Persuasion and a girl named Crystal!" No eye contact was recorded between Mom and myself.

It was as if it was the most common band name for DJs to pronounce and repeat and promote at the time. I have heard the song "Signs" many times and used to sing a long with it, but this is the first time I remember ever hearing the name "Five Man Electrical Band". I must have gotten some other group mixed up with Crabby Appleton. When the 1970's came to an end, I was forgetting all of that music.
