@Doug - the next time you listen to Reid imagine you are listening to Stephen Stills' voice sped up a bit. I have never done an experiment but I have a theory that if one was to slow down a Reid recording to the right speed you would in fact hear Stills coming thru the speakers :>)

Good song. What was the movie?
  11:23am SeanG:

LURIE!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:26am Doug Schulkind:

Hi SeanG!

@duke
"‘Melanie & Me’ was a promotional tool used for a movie shot by director Chris Fitchett in Australia in 1975. Pressed in an edition of 100 copies, it was handed out to people who partook in the film, and who attended the only screening to date in Sydney. Used as the background music for the entire movie, this was actually the second version of the soundtrack, recorded last minute by Simon Jones as Chris wasn’t happy with the original. The result had become one of the most sought after releases from the Aussie scene, and one of the most obscure records from the region as well."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:27am Doug Schulkind:

@duke
Of course, that didn't answer your question.
  11:27am SeanG:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:28am Parq:

John Lurie, man. Has off-off-mainstream pop culture produced anyone with a stranger life journey? He went from obscure local musician to alt-music god to terrified recluse.
