Unstuck in time, The Avant Ghetto wanders through heavy folk, pastoral noise, spiritual rock, harsh jazz and other dimly lit corners of the universe.

...one listen to Diane's kamakaze fun machine;Brian Turner's show; Martha's show or "infinite disortion" and it's obvious that rock is not dead.
yes,the grateful dead died several decades ago...(to some degree when Pigpen died- & certainly DONE after "Blues for Allah")- but "rock" is a broad term.

Yeah, unfortunately Rock seems pretty dead these days. Whatever one thought of Rock in the eighties, it was certainly still "alive" then. Then it sort of faded away in the nineties. Whatever "Pop" is since then, it's not based on Rock. there may be some great revival at some point, but for now, Rock has sadly sorta run it's course.

"rock" has never been the majority of music; and it still isn't. "doesn't mean it's dead.

the thing is - as long as there are people with the sensibilities for this program; and Bryce's show; and Stan's and Chris M.'s and Jesse J.'s (etc)..."rock" cannot die.
- because as people appreciate it music will be borne out of it.
-music made for the passion not for the money or fame.
i know people who make music for this reason.
