Every show starts with the ’70s! We’ll rediscover forgotten rockers, revisit unfairly maligned disco beats and replay power-pop favorites. Next: plenty of new releases, occasional live bands and more. Don’t let the nickname confuse you.

March 4, 2015: 3 hours of Stiff Records with guest Richard Balls, author of BE STIFF: THE STIFF RECORDS STORY
Listen to this show:
Pop-up player!
Stiff Records was one of the most groundbreaking labels of the punk/new wave era, launching the careers of Nick Lowe, Elvis Costello, Madness, Lene Lovich, Ian Dury, Rachel Sweet, Wreckless Eric, and dozens of others.
British author Richard Balls -- who previously documented the life of Stiff star Ian Dury in a 1999 biography -- has put together a definitive history of the much-beloved label. I chatted with Richard about his blow-by-blow account of The World's Most Flexible Record Label, and of course you'll hear hit after hit from Stiff's glory days. Listen to the show, and find out why it took Balls to write about Stiff.
