Hi there.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:31am Charlie:

Do you have any music I can play on my show today? Oh, wait, I've got a couple of tracks I stole from your show.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:33am schmutz:

I spy a lone Tati!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:37am Charlie:

That's in my top five movies.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:40am schmutz:

My cat is called Tati! He is also maybe a little bit of a fan: instagram.com...
Avatar 10:41am People Like Us:

I have lots of music here, I will send it over
Avatar 10:41am People Like Us:

I love that Tati film
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:47am Charlie:

Cute video, Schmutz. We used to have a cat who would sit and watch nature shows on tv -- birds, rodents. He'd run into the room when he heard the announcer's voice. When the show ended he'd walk away.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:35am listener james from westwood:

Charlie! Vicki! Schmutz! Looking forward to today's program!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:37am Charlie:

Hi James -- me too!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:45am schmutz:

That's too funny Charlie! Got to watch out for all those critters skittering on tv. hiya James & all!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:54am listener james from westwood:

Argh, went downstairs for the mail and got my first jury duty summons in 15 years. Doesn't go well with freelancing but my chances of getting out on that basis are slim.
Avatar 11:57am ndbob:

afternoon Charlie an everyone!
Avatar 11:59am Michael:

Hiya Charlie and everyone else. One of my favs too Charlie.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:04pm Uncle Michael:

Sorry...I was doing something.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:05pm Charlie:

Hey, Bob a re-bob, Michael, Uncle Michael.
Sorry about that jury duty, James.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:05pm Uncle Michael:

Playtime is genius.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:06pm listener james from westwood:

There was a response line in the questionnaire for reasons to postpone; I asked for a bit later in the spring to clear it away from freelance projects and, well, snow. Sooner or later I'm seeing beautiful downtown Hackensack.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:07pm Dominick:

Christy! Damn!
Avatar 12:14pm Carmichael:

Heya Charlie and listeners. Too busy today.
  12:15pm Listening Out There:

Hmm. If Vicki contributes music to this program, should it be renamed "People Like Nothing"? Or "Busy Doing Us"?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:16pm Charlie:

Busy Being People?
Do or B.D.N.?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:17pm Charlie:

hi Listening,
hi Carmichael (?)

I hear "Reuben Had a Train" (Rueben had a wreck that broke the foreman's neck and now he can't read a letter from his home")

How is this "Back to Peru" comp?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:24pm Charlie:

@108365 -- not familiar with that one!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:25pm Charlie:

hi bobdoes:
It's pretty good! There are a few killers on it.
  12:25pm listener 108365 in bushwood:

Hey, pop-up player is back (wouldn't work at work last week), great set!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:35pm Parq:

A martini would go well with that Tom Tom cover, actually, if I liked gin. Of course, nowadays, any combination of any liquor served in a conical stemmed glass is a martini. And get off my lawn.

great one here Charlie - or as I say elsewhere - a tail slapper!
Avatar 12:43pm βrian:

A tail slapper?
blogfiles.wfmu.org...
Avatar 12:46pm ndbob:

Not that kind of tail Brian lol - it's a jok I use on another forum as a response to someone who says a song is a toe tapper - an animal tail actually - a long story
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:47pm listener james from westwood:

w00t! Salsoul dance party!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:47pm Charlie:

Shake a tail feather?
Hi βrian
Avatar 12:48pm ndbob:

Kind of Charlie:)
  12:54pm jan:

Salsoul Orchestra, Disco Disco! Great show as usual and I get to hear it live today.
Avatar 12:55pm still b/p:

That "to Death" JB track I like better than mos' others. Many of the others summon all the requisite recognition and interest, but don't make me say, " I gotta hear THAT some more!"

So I didn't find a jury summons outside my door today, but I found a broken basement window. Newspaper carrier nailed it with his toss -- I could see the print in the snow where it first landed and struck the window. 1 of 3 panes fully gone. Then he came up and just moved the paper to the door's chin on the porch...first such placement in hella long time...and went on his way, no note or anything, with the February morning blowing in under my living room floor. I'd be plenty pissssed off if I didn't discover it for a while and it was as cold as it was just a few days ago.
  12:55pm jan:

BTW- are you gonna play some Jacques Tati Music?
  12:57pm Ike:

Moe Tucker, obsessed w/crime, law, order? Something hinting towards a bit of a political worldview in there perhaps? Or me nuts? That also could be. Wrong Moe?
Avatar 12:57pm ndbob:

wow b/p
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:01pm Charlie:

b/p -- bummer!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:03pm listener james from westwood:

That sucks, still b/p. I'd be reporting him to whoever could make this right.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:04pm Parq:

Wow, Arthur Alexander covering a white guy, 'stead of the other way around.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:06pm Charlie:

Hi Jan -- uh, maybe not re: music from Tati films. Just in the mood for that picture.
Ike - same Moe. You may be right. she may just be a bit of a separatist...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:07pm Parq:

I had the impression that Mo Tucker had become an outright wingnut. You never know who in show biz will end up one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:09pm Charlie:

You never know among the people that you know who might become an outright wingnut ;)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:10pm drr:

well....when you pay someone to throw things at your house, you may have to accept that it may not *always* go as planned.
Avatar 1:19pm still b/p:

Hundreds of people used to be killed and injured every year by milkmen lobbing uncautiously.
Paper carrier used to put it right at the door every morning -- dem were da days. Then -- though it's the same guy -- that reliability vanished. It's not a big front yard, but it ends up in random landings further away, on the walk, in the snowbank, at the base of the Charlie Brown rosebush. No long bombs please, And accidents happen, but fess up fast and follow up, always, but mucho brisko pronto in winter when you leave a gaping blowhole, eh, eh?
Avatar 1:24pm Carmichael:

I used to throw papers as a kid, from my loaded down bicycle. I was proud of my accuracy, especially on the cross-body throw.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:28pm drr:

I like the idea of a bike-riding bottle-tossing milkman.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:29pm drr:

And all the crying families on his tragic route.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:38pm Charlie:

hi drr.
b/p -- that paperboyman has lost his arm, his accuracy, certainly his morals, maybe his marbles
Avatar 1:41pm ndbob:

nice one here Charlie!
Avatar 1:43pm still b/p:

And the traditional songs, drr --

A quart killed daddy,
and a pint scarred sis,
Milkman wants yo' noggin,
And he don't miss,
Brother hides behind the couch,
Momma don't you cry,
I'll drink only gin
And leave my cornflakes dry.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:55pm Parq:

Gotta Get Away! The flip to "Ain't Got Nothing Yet" -- I've always loved they "hey hey hey" hook, plus the guitar break that follows the second one.
Avatar 1:56pm ndbob:

excellent show Charlie!
Avatar 1:57pm northguineahills:
