Morning, yes they had a good Ramle on Rose locked down huh?
Avatar 3:27am
Jeff Conklin:

Hey Jakob, you got a Ramble on Rose feel out of that Chu Kosake?
  3:28am
jakob:

ramble...
  3:28am
jakob:

totally

Phil:

This Eternal Tapestry piece sounds more and more essential as it goes

Jeff Conklin:

I'm bummed Dewey is out but ET remains one of my favorite modern gangs of psychedelic hooligans. This new record is great all the way through

Phil:

Dewey!

Bonjour Jeff and ghettoians
Avatar 4:09am
Jeff Conklin:

Hey Pierre. You missed everybody else...a 15-minute Grateful Dead jam scared them all off...

pierre:

that's what attracted me :)

Howdy! great William Tyler track! Just for the record: it appeared the first time on his solo debut as The Paper Hats - Deseret Canyon. Unfortunately, this record never gets mentioned, but it's a s good a any other of his.

Jeff Conklin:

Is this a different version, Marcus?
Avatar 4:18am
dyingforbadmusic:

yes it just shares the same kind of main theme. the skull version is rougher though.
Avatar 4:20am
Jeff Conklin:

Good info. Thanks, Marcus

Good morning Jeff and everyone. Missed the Dead again: I'll have to start getting up earlier on Mondays! This Ash Ra is a worthy consolation tho'...

Klaus is no Kreutzman though! Morning, Canterbury

bright sun, even that the spring is not here, it does peek already!

the Canterbury wood-elf:

Are you going to the Soldier Field show in July, Jeff?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:16am
the Canterbury wood-elf:

shows, sorry
Avatar 5:17am
Jeff Conklin:

I'd like to go but I didn't get tickets and the endeavor is probably too costly for a man of no means like myself. You?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:18am
the Canterbury wood-elf:

Unless someone miracles me (which doesn't tend to happen around these parts), then no. I think i'll just wait for time travel to get invented and then head for '68-'74.
  5:19am
Mark:

Your show has such a nice, easy groove today. It always does. This is the kind of music that is most appropriate for this time of day/night, IMHO. Of course, we have listeners in other parts of the world where it's not the middle of the night, but here in the EST, your tunes are perfect.
Avatar 5:22am
Jeff Conklin:

Thanks, Mark. I really try to make it work for our time zone, California's and Scandinavia's...
Avatar 5:22am
Jeff Conklin:

I'm tempted just to go and hang in the lot and hope they do a low-power FM broadcast like Healy used to do, Canterbury....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:23am
the Canterbury wood-elf:

...and sounding good in the GMT zone...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:24am
the Canterbury wood-elf:

Yeh, i think they'll probably *have* to set up some kind of external audio for people in the lot to avoid civil unrest! Or maybe the gnarly 90s Deadpunx have all grown out of that now?
  5:28am
Mark:

They should just do a streaming podcast or something--it's 2015!
  5:29am
Mark:

I didn't know Les McCann ever did anything this spicy--I think of him as more of an earthy funky kind of dude.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:29am
the Canterbury wood-elf:

Yeah, i can picture it, everyone outside the stadium watching the show on their iPad, Tweeting about it...
Avatar 5:30am
Jeff Conklin:

Im sure there will be a livestream but I love me a good FM simulcast. I am a dinosaur....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:30am
the Canterbury wood-elf:

@Mark It was 1972. EVERYONE seemed to have been affected by the musical zeitgeist. Many jazz players, if i don't like anything else they did, i can handle their discography in the '71-'74 window...
  5:37am
Mark:

Always nice to hear "In A Silent Way."
  5:41am
JW:

That Les McCann is SO good.
Avatar 5:46am
Jeff Conklin:

And if yr a record buyer, that McCann is always cheap and still plentiful. In A Silent Way felt like the right thing to do this morning...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:50am
the Canterbury wood-elf:

"it's about that time..."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:51am
Sem Chumbo:

Les McCann into Mr. Davis! I am very much enjoying your show this morning, Jeff. It's punching-up a few mundane writing chores, thanks for the spins. If I could only take your show outside, where snow drifts await shoveling...
Avatar 5:51am
Jeff Conklin:

Get the app, Sem!

great set jeff. i was listening and skiing on lake under sunshine.

Thanks Jeff, have a good week. Nice to hear a different version of "Astral Traveling" (didn't know this existed).
