Technically my iPhone shows a snowflake next to a thermometer. Which means, freezing rain, right? I don't know kids and their weather slang.
Avatar 12:16am

I think that means that it's snowing on Mercury.

Snowing on Mercury. Nice.

Technical difficulties -- only getting weak left channel in headphones.

Dee-lite should have been much bigger. They were the best disco/dance band

Thanks, Fuzzy. I think it was that CD. How does it sound now?

And the Grammy for best midnight DJ evah goes to our very own Therese.

Bob in DC and/or Virginia:

Or at least I assume that's how the Grammys turned out, since I was watching the finale of Sherlock instead.
Avatar 12:39am
BadGuyZero:

I had happy feet during the first set.
Avatar 12:40am
BadGuyZero:

"I Hope You Dance" is a bit too earnest. But a lot of modern country music is too earnest. It's like Nashville emo.
Avatar 12:43am
Therese:

Totally! Plus I feel like I've been to 11 weddings where either the bride or the groom danced with a parent to that song.
  12:44am
rw:

Evening Therese! Been grooving along here. I don't know that country song. If I get married again I'll look it up.
Avatar 12:45am
BadGuyZero:

They played "I Hope You Dance" at Dale Earnhardt's funeral service, so ever since then I associate that song with him dying.
  12:45am

Or I guess if I die.
Avatar 12:46am
Therese:

Whuuuuuuuttttt?!?!
Avatar 12:47am
BadGuyZero:

There was a photo gift book with the lyrics for "I Hope You Dance" that was popular as a graduation gift from people who thought Dr. Seuss's "Oh, The Places You Go!" was weird.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:49am
Fuzzy:

Sounds like the slider that controls the device that Betty was playing on might need some tuner spray or something -- still getting intermittent dropouts on the right channel. Nobody's Girl too, when brought up.
Avatar 12:50am
BadGuyZero:

This Night Signals track is very nice.
  12:58am
Bob in DC and/or Virginia:

Fuzzy, one of the channels kept dropping out during Gaylord's show today too, so it's clearly a pre-Therese issue.
  12:59am
rw:

Okay I just looked up "I hope you Dance". I hope nobody plays that at my wedding or my funeral.

I think the stuff Lee Ranaldo has done since Sonic Youth paused (or stopped or whatever) has just been fantastic.

Well, school has already been cancelled for Monday up here. That uses up the second contingency day. Any cancellations beyond this and they'll start shortening spring break.

I loved "The Tick" cartoon. Down here it was on Saturday mornings in a block that also contained "Freakazoid" and "Earthworm Jim." That was 90 minutes of solid Saturday morning cartoon viewing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:08am
Fuzzy:

@Bob: absolutely a hardware problem and not Therese's fault. Betcha 5 bucks it's the mixing board (now more inclined to think it's the on/off air button for that channel.)

Oh, Speaking of Sonic Youth. I recently heard the gossip about KG and TM breaking up, but I could have sworn they had broken up back in the '80s. Did they break up a long time ago and get back together? Not that I really care about anybody's personal life. It's my brain I'm worried about.
