Good morning, Marty, *Something*, is right. Good to hear vintage Mr. Hayes. Thanks!

Cooh John:

The Beatles with hot buttered soul. Good morning.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:11am
Fuzzy:

Another Gresat Big Chef Production like "Walk on By" on the aforementioned Hot Buttered Soul.

I confess to being a latecomer to the Wooden Shjips bandwagon - great stuff.

Strange thing happened when i went to comment today, there were 10 numbers under my name. Wth?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:44am
Sem Chumbo:

You win! Write Kenzo for your prize:-D
  6:52am
Hel:

lol@Sem, If it had been one number, i would have played it on 'Pick 10', unfortunately there were 10 three digit numbers.
  6:54am
P-90:

Huzzah, DJ Marty and all crack-of-dawners. Now I'm in the unimaginable state of believing that I just might truly, unironically prefer "Hocus Pocus" at the 45@33 speed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:59am
Sem Chumbo:

This is great, Kiki and Elton are turning over in their graves.
What? They're not dead? Oops.
  7:03am
P-90:

Don't be talkin bout my girl Kiki...
  7:08am
Cooh John:

Don't go breakin P-90's heart
  7:19am
P-90:

Hasn't she taken enough abuse for four decades now for teaming up with what's-his-name on that one crappy record?
...OMG has it been THAT long? ...feel so old suddenly...
  7:20am
Mark:

Teaming up with whats-his-name probably paid for her house.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:33am
Sem Chumbo:

P-90, you have my empathy, in your dotage.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:38am
fred:

Good morning Marty and others

Bonjour, fred
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:48am

Salut, fred. Bleeding Edge down, Mason & Dixon well under-way, font challenge accepted:-P

@Sem: I'm re-reading DeLillo's Underworld. I read it more than ten years ago, and I missed a lot of the cultural references at the time (all the baseball stuff, for instance). It makes more sense now
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:03am
Marcel M:

Morning Marty, morning Woof Mooers.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:04am
Sem Chumbo:

@fred: yeah, got hooked by White Noise and keep going back. Totally absorbing, demanding writer, I think.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:14am
fred:

@Sem: I remember hearing Dan Bodah say he named his show Airbone Event because of White Noise
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:20am
Sem Chumbo:

Hahaha, Dan's got a savage sense of humour, it seems.
  8:26am
P-90:

Thanks, guys, for reminding me that I haven't read Bleeding Edge. I think I didn't pounce on it when it came out because I wasn't in the mood at the time to read a 9/11 book by anyone (even HIM), then forgot about it. Gravity's Rainbow was a defining experience when I was a kid, Mason Dixon kept me company through a long convalescence after a serious injury...P's like an old friend.

- haven't read any Pynchon yet - so I guess the pleasure's all ahead of me. I read 'Positively 4th Street' about Dylan & Baez & Richard & Mimi Farina - & it tells of Richard & Pynchon hanging @ Cornell...

Don Rickles had me transported to another dimension
  8:53am

Wow! Rickles, intense... he'd prob. get stabbed doing that kinda thing today....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:56am
the Canterbury wood-elf:

@P-90 Pynchon handles the 911 thing incredibly well in Bleeding Edge. In fact (despite being fiction, with many ridiculous facets) it's probably the most relevant document out there concerning those events. You won't be disappointe. Seen "Inherent Vice" yet?
Avatar 🥊 Swag For Life Member 8:58am
Ken From Hyde Park:

Rickles must be one of the last guys standing from the folks I saw on Johnny Carson.
