Diane, I'm gonna see Voivod on the 31st! I will be sending you some sweet metal vibes from the show.
BROOOTAL!
Avatar 12:08pm
Cecile:

Okay, my questions:
which big 4 thrash band do you want to hit with a cinder block?

How many Sergei Eisenstein film festivals did you attend before planning the Crack the Skye tour?

Which do you prefer?
Priest or Maiden?
Floyd or Yes?
Accept or Krokus?
Helloween or Gamma Ray?
Flat Duo Jets or Southern Culture on the Skids?

Which Van Halen is the best one?
Avatar 12:09pm

Voivod is the same day as an uncomfortable medical test I cannot postpone anymore. :(

Which is worse, screamo, emo or Christian black metal?

What band do you love that your fans be would most appalled about you liking?
Avatar 12:11pm
V Priceless:

Been listening to "Real Life" lots past few weeks. Pretty close to a perfect record, IMO, if there is such a thing.

Q: for starters: what is difference between a Mastodon and a Woolly Mammoth?

hey common!

Oh no Cecile! horrible news about testing day :(

Q for Brann: How does it feel to be an Octopus? (Hi Claw!)
Avatar 12:11pm
Cecile:

I might have to revisit Magazine. I think I'm finally grown up enough to appreciate them.
Avatar 12:12pm

Cheri, it is just routine, but the cosmos did not help me out in the appointment department.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:14pm

@Cecile: So right on. So many great bands that I didn't appreciate when I was younger. Magazine is certainly one of them for me.

Rich, there were just too many great bands back then, I have to say.

I have all these tapes which I recorded when I was a teenager of radio shows, really wanting to get all the punk stuff. Now, when I listen to the tapes, I want all the cooler stuff which I then endeavored to edit out.
  12:16pm
Dean:

I second the perfect record judgment. When it first appeared, I listened to "Real Life" every day at least once. A fly-by-night band of mine covered "Motorcade" at a party. We were miserable, of course, and the cops were called before we could complete our set, which included a recitation in French from Sartre's "Les Mots." Rawk.

I miss the art-punk days.

Questions for Brann: Do you or others in the band spend quality time with classical music? If so, which composers, performers, orchestras, ensembles, etc.? The more I listen to WFMU, the more I wonder why there isn't more classical, old and new, woven into the programming.
