Avatar 8:00pm

@steve - Yes. Glad you share my reaction.
@ndbob - I very respectfully disagree re overreaction, I am seriously worried that NYPD is well on the way to forming its own army. But I should've been more clear, I think the Union head(s) s/b fired immediately, all others s/b retrained & get a second chance before firing.

@ljfw - Ms. Skloot's book is one of the best, maybe the best, "pop sci" non-fiction books I've ever read. I've read it 3 times! Hate agreeing w. Oprah, but hey ;-)

Life After Death is one of the top 5 best bios ive ever read (and i love bios and memoirs).

HOWEVER the followup (whose name I can't remember.. Yours For Eternity i think its called?) which is a collection of love letters between Damien and his future wife, is, arguably, a cash grab, and while emotionally powerful definitely did not make my best of list...

I've got about 8 library books to start 2015 off with, incl. 2 on life in Victorian London and/or England by the same author. ooh steel pan drums yes yes!

GARY! Your wonderful girlfriend, sister & Mom are probably pushing same or similar, but this I guarantee - if not helpful, you need to go see a medical professional stat:
- slug of whiskey, scotch, rum, or bourbon
- huge squeeze of lemon
- big glug of honey
- lg pinch cayenne
- lg coin fresh ginger, bruised, or a shitstorm of dried
- mix with water to fill vessel of choice, heat or nuke
- top up with more (fresh) booze, honey, lemon & cayenne

Drink. IF not leaving house, repeat.

Sleep, for at least 8 hours. Call in all love & favors to allow you to sleep for 8 hours.
