I would play my brothers' LPs on my little red and white plastic fold-up player (couldn't figure out their NASA-like gargantuan component systems) and then lie about playing them, even though they were horribly disfigured with scratches after my usage (like they'd run through a thicket of brambles, chased by an assailant). My player was only made for 45's and my collection consisted of read-along books (I'm A Little Teapot) and floppy freebies ripped out of National geographic (Sounds of the Humpback Whale, for ex.).
