Street interviews, listener call-ins, vinyl gluttery, sporadic normalcy, original floperas and fiktion, blatant talking over songs, politix, tenderness, and a vague undercurrent of angst. Right up your alley!

Thanks for listening to this episode of The Dusty Show. I hope you enjoyed it. It was a rather hurried episode to make. Basically I took the first six or seven interviews I could find and let them roll. But, people are usually pretty interesting in Union Square Park. Thanks for your pledges during the minithon. You hepled me reach my goal and that felt great. Now we just need a few coins for the realm to get FMU over the hump. It's not easy. I do hope you keep tuning in. I enjoy your comments on the Accuplaylist and the emails you send. You can always write me:

If any one reads the ISKCON Bhagavad Gita that the first interview recommended, you will find one the most misogynistic and racist book contained in religion, I know, I was once a Hare Krsna!

Took me awhile to warm up to Clay.

thanks for the heads up Kali. I'm a little leery of ISKCON in general.

maybe he got some new tapes - not re-recording over the old recotons
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:10pm
Kali G:

@Cecile; Hinduism has a lot of beauty in it, but some groups and institutions like ISKCON have a sordid history of child abuse, the degradation of women, classism and power in the hands of spiritual egoists. The food and art is all good, but beware of male dominated spiritual hierarchies.

@Cecile; Oh yeah, Catholicism, it was the school system I went to from Kindergarden through High School,… one would of thought I would of learned something once I was 18, but no, I stepped into another kind of patriarchal fire,… even in Chicago!

@Kali: Clay has long approached anyone in NYC, "from the homeless to the glitterati", as his description once said. He remains possibly the only broadcaster to regularly interview homeless people and let them voice their concerns uncut.

It's either the water in old rusting metal pipes, radio waves,… or all that wifi going through us, don't know,… just don't have enough tin foil to make a hat, all that with Hare Krsna music in the background. The only body bag needed right now is one for wayward beliefs and world views.

so a total of 4 million people voted for the new york governor of their choice. isn't that less than half the population of new york city? WHERE IS EVERYONE? election day should be a mandatory holiday

According to Wiki, "In December 2011, Cobham began teaching drums online at the Billy Cobham School of Drums"

Dale, if it was a mandatory holiday don't you suspect people would vote like they honor MLK on his day, veterans on 11/11, or workers on Labor Day (i.e., very little, because holiday)?
