JENNIE THE CAT FOR MASCOT 2014
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:11pm Dominick:

The Magicians were NYC boys
Avatar 1:12pm bobdoesthings:

@greg - I've heard Jennie the Cat's a bit of a radical.. and possibly a mainstream radio sympathizer! Now Lucas, (my cat)..now there's a candidate we can all believe in.
Avatar 1:13pm Reeshard:

Fantastic sets thus far, Mista Bee. Did you read the Howard Kaylan autobiography? An interesting thing, but I kinda wanted to take a shower once I'd put it down...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:16pm Greg from Bloomfield:

@bob: That's just factually inaccurate! Everybody knows that Jennie pushed through legislation to allow the construction of Monty Hall.
Avatar 👻 1:17pm David Shortell:

Are those Bostweeds the same dudes who did the "Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!" theme?
Avatar 1:17pm Joe B:

You got it david! the same ones!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:20pm efd:

thanks for the plug, Joe!
Avatar 1:22pm fred von helsing:

Avatar 1:22pm Joe B:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:30pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Dawgie Campaign Slogan:

Because I Can.
Avatar 1:32pm bobdoesthings:

@rev - that's a good one! Were you listening to the Dave Hill show when I tried to get people to come up with campaign slogans for their pet/mascot submissions?! It didn't quite catch along.. as it goes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:33pm Matt F:

Ricky's Blues Magoos record out of season! Great show today Joe.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:34pm Greg from Bloomfield:

YES WE CAT
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:34pm Greg from Bloomfield:

Midnight to 666!
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 1:36pm Jeff from Rahway:

I love covers, Joe! I can never have enough of em
  1:38pm Figures of Light:

The DC Five totally underrated - did you know that "Anyway You Want It" was the last song played by the Ramones at their LAST ever concert? But Canadian ----????
  1:39pm Seab B.:

-YESSIREEBOB!-
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:39pm Parq:

Weird Al took his SCOTS impression onto one of the talk shows. Okay song, I guess, but except for the porkpie and sunglasses on the drummer, it's not even really trying to work as a spoof of the band.
Avatar 1:40pm Joe B:

canadian pressing of that record
  1:40pm Figures of Light:

And a great set -- Mickey Lee Lane!! The Gentrys!! Thirteenth Floor Elevators!! PR & The Raiders!! Good grief!! Now all we need is Chilly Charlie!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:40pm Parq:

This soul version of "Condition" is a monster.
  1:41pm Figures of Light:

Canadian pressing - a tenuous connection, hmmmmm?
Avatar 1:43pm bobdoesthings:

loving this daptone stuff. I got their 45-sampler pack a month ago and some Charles Bradley.. super cool, digging these "soul-revivalists" type stuff.
Avatar 👻 1:49pm David Shortell:

Yes, Ricky Nelson's "Summertime" begat the Blues Magoos' "(We Ain't Got) Nothin' Yet", which in turn begat Dead Kennedys' "Let's Lynch the Landlord"!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:50pm Spankyflop:

You're outta luck if you ain't got Chuck!
  1:58pm Figures of Light:

Oh wow! Murray the K!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:59pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...Because He Can.
Avatar 2:02pm Mailman Tom:

I'm looking for the rare Doug Sahm 45, Hang Loose/ I'm Sorry, Tribe Records #8323 issued in 1967. Anyone have one for sale or know of a dealer who may have it?
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 2:06pm Jeff from Rahway:

Joe, if you're playing 7" singles - and covers - why not play The Kaisers' version of "Soldiers of Love" from their "Beat It Up" EP record? I liked it better than the Beatles' version.
Avatar 2:07pm Joe B:

no Kaisers here except the live CD on Get Hip
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:08pm doctorjazz:

It's Saturday on Tuesday (like Carvel's Wednesday is Sunday...)
Avatar 2:09pm DeaconDave:

Is Bob Brainen there?
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 2:09pm ChrisB.:

Saturday already?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:09pm Parq:

Love the lush strings on this Bob favorite. Like swimming.
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 2:10pm ChrisB.:

Bring on the NRBQ.
  2:11pm Woo:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:13pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:24pm Sem Chumbo:

Pretty much pretty great, Joe. Killin' and takin' no prisoners. I like that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:26pm Dominick:

Extended version of emergency alert
Avatar 2:27pm Tom from Detroit:

Wow Emergency Alert System didn't the drummer play in Total Industry of Fear?
Avatar 2:27pm DJ Stashu:

Someone told me there was a dance party here.
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 2:28pm Jeff from Rahway:

Emergency! Big t-storms moved through Ocean County earlier this afternoon today. Hail in Brick Twp!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:28pm Hugh:

Love those two-note solos!
  2:31pm Bluesman:

Keep playing this instro-mental until I get back from a meeting with my boss.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:34pm Dominick:

Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:37pm Dominick:

OK, the last 10 minutes didn't happen
  2:38pm miss Georgia Peach:

Are you ok Joe?
  2:38pm John L.:

I didn't hear if you did concert announcements, so I wanted to alert Hudson Valley residents, and anyone who wants to make the trip: White Fence will be at BSP, in Kingston, NY, on Thursday. Free show tonight, with Purling Hiss and Meatbodies.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:42pm Nate K:

Hang in there, Joe. Let's hear it for the People's Champ people!
Avatar 2:43pm FernandoBelmondo:

Joe, your show is never ruined with all the great music going on.
Avatar 2:43pm Roberto:

Redemption achieved!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:43pm Dominick:

Ruined? Not at all!
Avatar 2:44pm FernandoBelmondo:

I usually listen to this song three times in a row.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:44pm Fuzzy:

Live radio baby -- real DJs, without a net!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:45pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...not goin' anywhere !...
Avatar 2:45pm FernandoBelmondo:

And I'm flying from Brazil next week just to catch The Above's show in NYC. I hope to meet you there, Joe.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:51pm ironybread:

As a sometime volunteer DJ at a freeform station (KUOI-FM, Moscow, Idaho), I can report that dealing with the EAS system has derailed my show on more than one occasion. Hey, it’s the EAS! It’s doing something! Sure, I have time to a) figure out if it’s a test or an alert, b) figure out if it’s for me or some other region, c) simultaneously cue the next cut, d) simultaneously enter the required data in the log, e) simultaneously enter my show data in the playlist. NO PROBLEM
Avatar 2:52pm bobdoesthings:

greaaat show thanks Joe!!
  2:57pm Woo:

Ah, the Intruders of Cowboys to Girls fame. I was wondering if this was Mel and Tim of Backfield in Motion fame. Great show Joe!
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 3:01pm Hoboken Jack:

great show Joe! eh a few troubles, just shows it's real radio baby!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:04pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...☆ed this episode awlready before the PSA~glitchy bit - all gravy after that anyhow ! ; *c'mon* : it's a perfect playlist !! Thx & be well JoeB.
  4:34pm Toddophonic:

Someone let Mailman Tom know the single he is asking about is by a Texas Group called The Lavender Hour, not Doug Sahm.
