	9:50am MD: Climate March was amazing yesturday...but the major news stations are not covering it because they are in the pockets of big oil moneyie$..."PEOPLE HAVE THE POWER!" the march moved me...and I even think we are past the "tipping point!"
	9:52am Liz Berg: I hope you're right, MD. I hate when the news networks only show the people dressed the craziest and just turn coverage into freakshow gawking, seems like that always happens instead of focusing on the point of the rally.

	10:02am braveness23: I wish I was more optimistic about the future of climate change. But when queried the average American, even those who "like" the idea of conservation, either has no idea what the top energy uses in their direct control are or are unable/unwilling to make reductions.

	10:05am Cecile: I think slowly it's getting better braveness. Utility companies (at least in MN) are more active about teaching about energy conservation. Our neighborhood worked with a non-profit to get our homes checked for energy efficiency for a huge discount. They gave us free lightbulbs and surge suppressors, and they installed an thermostat for us.
	10:05am Cecile: Andrew, as I have mentioned before, why would people pay good money to drink hospital coffee?
	10:07am Cecile: And I think some people are coming to the realization that even if they can't agree on what's causing the climate change, it doesn't matter. They have to clean it up and adapt to it. I have to be optimistic. Even though I don't want to.
	10:08am Liz Berg: Oh, I've got a robot dance party idea up my sleeve, Greg... but it's more of a virtual presentation. Still need to do more sleuthing.
	10:09am MD: Cecile...thanks for the update...I expect to hear a lot about it on the BBC...more than the American press...As i get older (52 AND STILL COUNTING!) and am feelling more and more..."THE SYSTEM ISN'T BROKEN....IT'S FIXED!"
	10:11am braveness23: @Cecile - you are preaching to the choir. Mrs23, the kid and I have spent the last three years reducing our household electricity consumption. We've reduced by over 60% and have really educated ourselves. 95% of our annual electricity consumption could be met with the installation of eleven 275 watt solar panels. Unfortunately our republican Governor cancelled the grant program to help pay for residential solar arrays and the cost is prohibitive. We are now moving on to reducing our household natural gas consumption.
	10:11am Cecile: Yeah, US national TV news is ridiculous.
	10:13am Cecile: That sucks, braveness. The Republicans I grew up with were thrifty, loved nature and were very conservation minded. And community minded. Sigh. I could say something more about short-sightedness, but once again, preaching to the choir.
	10:14am Liz Berg: Nice job with the 60% cut, b23! Curious to know some of the changes you made.
	10:14am Cecile: yeah, really, b23. that is impressive.
	10:17am MD: B23....thank you...
	10:20am braveness23: Thanks, the really biggie was ripping out our old central A/C system and putting in super-efficient mini-split A/C heat pumps in so we can be comfortable in the summertime without cooling the whole downstairs while we're upstairs in bed. We're hoping these new units will also allow us to heat individual rooms on winter mornings so we don't have to spin up all the radiators in the whole house just so we can get dressed, make coffee and get out the door to work. We also line dry our laundry. All the lights everywhere have been replaced with LED's. TV's, computers, etc are on power strips and are truly OFF when not in use. And overall we just focus on no using when we don't need it. We have sacrificed very little in the way of comfort of convenience.
	10:25am braveness23: Getting our natural gas usage under control in our 2300 sq/ft house is going to be huge. As I said, I am hoping to only have to cycle the whole house radiant heat once a day instead of twice on weekdays. When I can afford it the boiler will be replaced with a 95% efficient one. We've also replaced the hot water tank with a tank-less water heater.

	10:58am braveness23: I once photoshop forged tickets to see The Flaming Lips at The Empty Bottle in Chicago. At the show my ex-wife asked a guy for a light. When he fumbled for his lighter he accidentally dropped his drink and some spare tickets fell out of his pocket as well. He was Steve Albini.

	11:21am Liz Berg: The WFMU crew hung out with Ron Jeremy at 3am during one of the ATP fests in upstate NY. He was wearing sweatpants and crocs. Told us stories about how he used to wait tables at Kutsher's in his teenage years.

	11:21am braveness23: I left more than one Black Flag show utterly drenched in Henry Rollins sweat. But I'm pretty sure everyone who ever saw Black Flag and claim the same that.
	11:22am steve: i used to work at a synth/audio repair shop. one of the most surreal moments of my life was when i was playing with some big modular thing that had come in, and out of nowhere, Vince Clarke unassumingly sidled up next to me.
	11:24am Claw!: I once made fun of Glenn Danzig for wearing a leather jacket in the middle of summer. He was buying 8-tracks in my shop and complaining about how hot he was. He asked me if I was going to see Danzig play the Fillmore. I told him I wasn't sure because I had to work all day the next morning, but what I really wanted to say was "I'm not sure, because I'm afraid you're gonna suck." I then pretended that I didn't know who he was. He paused and said, "I'm Glenn." I told him I knew and that I was fucking with him. Not much of a sense of humor, that guy. He got me and my co-worker comped tickets backstage anyway, so we went. I did a shot of Jager with Doyle even though I hate that shit, because when will I ever get to do that again?

	11:28am pierre: the coolest "famous people story" I have is being quoted on a live album from Wire because I was wearing a WFMU t shirt in the audience.
	11:30am joe: I came out of the 33rd st Path Station on Thanksgiving Morning to go to the parade very very early in the morning (not even day light yet) and as the wife and I were walking through Harold Square area we saw Dave Chappelle walking down the middle of the street having a very colorful phone conversation with someone conversation with someone
	11:31am Chris from DC: Shared an elevator with Tom Rapp once.
	11:32am Cecile: actually, that split 12" Roaratorio put out with Paul Metzger and Ben Chasny was my idea. And James the label owner credited me.
	11:32am braveness23: I picked up a ringing telephone that was part of a performance art exhibit at the Cincinnati Contemporary Art Center and found myself talking to Yoko Ono calling from a hospital in Tokyo where her daughter had just had a baby. Being totally tongue twisted I told Yoko that my wife "would kill or die to talk to her". After the call I realized that that was perhaps not the most appropriate thing to say to Yoko Ono.
	11:33am mariano: Shared an elevator with Kissinger once, Chris. Tiny little guy, like Hans Moleman from the Simpsons. Two body guards.
	11:34am Cecile: Almost got run over by Prince and his driver in one of those airport golf carts.

	11:35am steve: a buddy of mine was recently in an elevator with Tom Moulton. she recognized him and struck up a conversation, he was really nice, apparently they were in his apartment building and he gave her his apt number and told her to stop by and say hi any time.

	11:36am Chris from DC: Happens in DC Mariano. Madeline Albright's security almost bowled us over outside a restaurant as she was being whisked inside.
	11:41am chris: Working at a resort high in the Sierra Mtns one summer in the late 80s, early 90s, a Harley rider pulled in and someone said it was Steve Perry. I didn't believe them, so when he put a six pack on the counter, I carded him, even though he was clearly old enough to buy alcohol. He said, "are you serious?" I said, "do you want beer?" He showed me his license. Sure enough, Steve Perry.
	11:42am joe: Here is one for you while working the WFMU Marathon in 2013 I received a frantic phone call from (in)famous NY DJ Dave Herman who swore that his daughter had called him and told him that he had heard on WFMU that another NY DJ from his "time period" had just died (sorry I can't remember who the DJ in question was but I do remember looking it up and he had not died at that time). I had been listening to the station all day and there was no announcement of the sort. He left me his number and asked me to call if I heard any thing else. I would have thought it a total hoax but I was pretty familiar with that voice.
	11:42am βrian: I once kept Bonnie Raitt supplied with Vodka tonics while she attempted to affix a spoon to her nose. Arlo Guthrie was chain-smoking cigarettes at her side.
	11:43am pierre: Along with some friends we actually made a sort of game about meeting famous people by chance. the rules were this : — You'd give 1 to 5 point regarding the celebrity (ex. Goerges Clooney = 5…) — You'd give 1 to 5 pts regarding the probability of the place (ex. Luxury hotel = 1 / in the middle of a country fair in the south ouest of France = 5) — You'd give 1 to 5 points regarding the interaction you had (ex. autograph, photo = 1 / holding the hair while puking = 5)
	11:44am βrian: But generally, it seems I have no idea who most famous people are. I'm batting about 10% with this list.
	11:44am david from ks: My 11 year -old son somehow got into the pool game with the band Butthole Surfers as they were killing time in the afternoon at the Bottleneck in Lawrence KS before the show and i was making sure he could get in later on that night I just watched.
	11:45am Claw!: I was sitting right in front of the stage at a Patrice O'Neal show when he started talking about "rusty trombones." He asked if anyone knew what that was. I then proceeded to gesticulate the motions and he pointed to me, laughed, and called me a "Trampy Souljah. He then proceeded to shake my hand and said that I was doing God's work.

She's made a QWERTY keyboard of the tines and played text pages she propped up on the platen. She played in a quiet garden, but the instrument can be seen and heard in a video from a bigger performance elsewhere. She starts playing solo at about :50, then there's similar-instrument-ensemble footage: www.youtube.com...

	10:05am Cecile: I think slowly it's getting better braveness. Utility companies (at least in MN) are more active about teaching about energy conservation. Our neighborhood worked with a non-profit to get our homes checked for energy efficiency for a huge discount. They gave us free lightbulbs and surge suppressors, and they installed an thermostat for us.

	10:07am Cecile: And I think some people are coming to the realization that even if they can't agree on what's causing the climate change, it doesn't matter. They have to clean it up and adapt to it. I have to be optimistic. Even though I don't want to.

	10:11am braveness23: @Cecile - you are preaching to the choir. Mrs23, the kid and I have spent the last three years reducing our household electricity consumption. We've reduced by over 60% and have really educated ourselves. 95% of our annual electricity consumption could be met with the installation of eleven 275 watt solar panels. Unfortunately our republican Governor cancelled the grant program to help pay for residential solar arrays and the cost is prohibitive. We are now moving on to reducing our household natural gas consumption.

	10:13am Cecile: That sucks, braveness. The Republicans I grew up with were thrifty, loved nature and were very conservation minded. And community minded. Sigh. I could say something more about short-sightedness, but once again, preaching to the choir.

	10:20am braveness23: Thanks, the really biggie was ripping out our old central A/C system and putting in super-efficient mini-split A/C heat pumps in so we can be comfortable in the summertime without cooling the whole downstairs while we're upstairs in bed. We're hoping these new units will also allow us to heat individual rooms on winter mornings so we don't have to spin up all the radiators in the whole house just so we can get dressed, make coffee and get out the door to work. We also line dry our laundry. All the lights everywhere have been replaced with LED's. TV's, computers, etc are on power strips and are truly OFF when not in use. And overall we just focus on no using when we don't need it. We have sacrificed very little in the way of comfort of convenience.
	10:25am braveness23: Getting our natural gas usage under control in our 2300 sq/ft house is going to be huge. As I said, I am hoping to only have to cycle the whole house radiant heat once a day instead of twice on weekdays. When I can afford it the boiler will be replaced with a 95% efficient one. We've also replaced the hot water tank with a tank-less water heater.

Being totally tongue twisted I told Yoko that my wife "would kill or die to talk to her". After the call I realized that that was perhaps not the most appropriate thing to say to Yoko Ono.

	11:41am chris: Working at a resort high in the Sierra Mtns one summer in the late 80s, early 90s, a Harley rider pulled in and someone said it was Steve Perry. I didn't believe them, so when he put a six pack on the counter, I carded him, even though he was clearly old enough to buy alcohol. He said, "are you serious?" I said, "do you want beer?" He showed me his license. Sure enough, Steve Perry.
	11:42am joe: Here is one for you while working the WFMU Marathon in 2013 I received a frantic phone call from (in)famous NY DJ Dave Herman who swore that his daughter had called him and told him that he had heard on WFMU that another NY DJ from his "time period" had just died (sorry I can't remember who the DJ in question was but I do remember looking it up and he had not died at that time). I had been listening to the station all day and there was no announcement of the sort. He left me his number and asked me to call if I heard any thing else. I would have thought it a total hoax but I was pretty familiar with that voice.
