Sounds like a good mix of healthy and not there Andy. It will be some form of granola here shortly which is much less exotic but as the weather is the equivalent of burnt toast its a step up....

@ sem Chumbo 23 Skidoo are a British band playing a fusion of industrial, post-punk, alternative dance, rock, and world music. The group was named after an early 20th-century American slang phrase that later made appearances in the works of Aleister Crowley, William S. Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:48am
Fran:

Same with me Bill - he had some excellent material early on - turned into a ridiculous circus act and then has redeemed his credibility although I'm passive about his material. But as Brian says he is a real fan and that commands respect. Its odd but there is a clutch of 70s singer songwriters who are dismissed as cheese but if you delve into their (usually earlier) catalogues there is often more than the odd flash of genius which has been overlooked unfairly due to cheese or pop hit moments - classic case is Gilbert O'Sullivan

There should be no guilty secrets around music - remembering that Esquivel was your parents muzak and at 18 you would never admit to liking that but in this revisionist world it is all now super cool and visionary!

P-90:

"Lady Samantha"1 That's going WAY back. Cool early single, I don't think anyone in America heard it until Elton became well known a few years later.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:57am

Still find James Last & Bert Kamfart hard to listen to.

Sad thing is Fran, i have some of this stuff but since we moved to apartment and it's all buried, not that wasnt buried when we lived in suburbs
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:59am
Stanley:

@ Brian - Herb Alpert and his Tijuana Brass?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:59am
Brian in UK:

Stanley, at least Herb co-founded A&M with Jerry Moss.

Fran im so revisionist i have Space Age Bachelor Music somewhere. i hated it when i bought it but now that im old it seems like good choice for party. But i cant find it in this mess. Also when you have a party you (I) hide everything.

P-90:

And of course WFMU stalwart Irwin Chusid was instrumental in sparking the Esquivel revival in the 90s.

I was so happy in the early 90ies, that finally i was able to confess that I love easy listening.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:02am
Stanley:

Thinking about it, I like all music except the stuff that's played on the radio. What am I saying??
Avatar 5:02am
KP:

Was he P-90? One of the guests got to know Irwin through Irwin's most recent project.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:14am
Guido from Cologne:

Spizz re-emerged in the late 90ies or early 00s.
Playing shows as well.
Avatar 5:14am
KP:

Dave Brubeck is a little played out in NY. Also staying away from straight jazz just to infuriate a jazz guy who will be there.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:15am

Eating my greens? I've started to wearing them!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:16am
