	12:46pm Dan B From Upstate: Anyone catch was Tom Scharpling put on facebook last night? I found it kind of poignant, actually. "Please be brave Simpsons fans as the marathon moves into season 13. Winter is coming. Stay strong and try to stomach a show that was not nearly as great as you remember it being during its golden years, and not nearly as bad as you think it was in its later run." I have to disagree about the not being as good in its golden years part, but a lot of people treat seasons 13+ as bad television. It's still the Simpsons. It's still good. It's just not as good. Sorry for ranting.

All I know is at a certain point in the early 00s I wasn't laughing as much or at all. The show has my gratitude for the formative first decade, but either it or I changed to the point where we weren't connecting anymore. Simpsons Time here gives me a chance to reassess that via Amanda's deep dives into later individual shows (and for the record the recent-ish one w/ Comic Book Guy finding love, from what I could gather in GIFsets, looked entirely sweet).

	1:35pm Dan B From Upstate: james, waaaay back at 12:59, you've actually put a really interesting thought into my head when you said "The show has my gratitude for the formative first decade, but either it or I changed to the point where we weren't connecting anymore." funny enough, I'm kind of wondering if I should be examining my life more closely since I'm one of the few people I know who didn't have this revelation regarding the simpsons back around that time. Ha... maybe I haven't matured and have some growing to do. Who knows? :-)

	1:42pm P-90: There IS a Hee-Haw musical headed for Broadway, co-written by Roy Clark himself. Unpossible as it may seem, the word from those who've attended readings is that it's really funny, like in Book of Mormon territory funny.
	1:49pm listener james from westwood: Dan: I only came to that realization a couple years' back, when I began seeing clips/GIFsets of the show on Tumblr more often. Between 2004ish and 2011 I hadn't seen the show. So it gave me a chance to view myself re: the show then and now. Didn't make the connection when I stopped watching; just sorta stopped. And not necess. maturing or growing, esp in my case. Maybe just change.
	1:55pm northguineahills: I've actually watched most of the latter episodes. The fallow period for me was 2002-2011. A few episodes crop up there are decent, but not many. The last few seasons it's gotten better, not classic period, but good, except the celebrity cameo vehicles.
