@Cheri Pi - Me, too. I missed hearing WFMU. My daughter insisted on nasty teeny-bop stations all the time in the car.

I associate mid-life crisis with a certain kind of unctuous jazz. And a Mazda Miata.

Not having a midlife crisis (though at 45 I'm in the demographic), but I do covet the chance to chuck it all and escape to Middle-earth for a year.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:13am
Ken From Hyde Park:

I enjoy hearing "Midlife Crisis" from Faith No More, if that is relative to the conversation. A friend of mine stored his newly-purchased Harley in my garage over the winter and I rode it a few times when it wasn't too cold out.
Avatar 10:14am
GeesyCreesy:

There's a theory that some people experience quarter-life crises bit.ly...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:15am
DCE:

my 40 year-old crisis came and went and thank goodness no major scars and everything survived intact!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:15am
listener james from westwood:

A friend's dad who was an otherwise staid father of 3 and top exec at the NYT did snag himself a ticket-me red Mazda 300ZX back in the mid-80s. We immediately began calling it his "Midlife Crisismobile." (He later upgraded to the Star Destroyer–sized AARP Cadillac.)
  10:16am
ratty:

sounds like you are wondering if you should have one, a mid life crisis.. if you can think it you should do it. i mean the whole rethink not just some stoopid consumer item or unnatural anti aging process..

@GeesyCreesy: Indeed, youth is wasted on the young.

TransAlly:

At least your friend is only uprooting her own life. Taking a chance for change, and perhaps avoiding future regret. NZ is beautiful.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:26am
listener james from westwood:

Heh, just saw Neko Case tweet about this album this morning. Glad to hear it!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:28am
listener james from westwood:

Agreed w. DCE & TransAlly. Better to examine one's self then, when you're feeling at odds w/ your life, than to let regrets or conflicts curdle in one's later years.
