@Laure - as a long time NYC ex-pat I can tell you that you may leave the city, but the city doesn't leave you. Often that is a bittersweet thing. A decade later I still call myself a New Yorker and end up talking to others of the same ilk at parties etc.

*I've always enjoyed your show. I listened when you were on the schedule a few years ago. Best of luck to you in your new landing spot.
*In regard to NYC and its metro area, I think I'm done with it. I still think NYC is amazing, and it was great to be immersed in it when I was younger, but my "days in the sun" around these thar parts over. I'm now seeking year-round beaches, cheap rum drinks, and early-bird dinner specials.

Sad to hear you're departing. Keep in touch with the station and see if they can find a podcast situation or a spot on one of the alternate streams. Your shows were quite enjoyable. If you're on the run from killing that guy, best of luck while you're on the lam.

The Coltrane track was originally on Coltrane Jazz, my first jazz album. Think the ending is slightly extended. Really turned my head Laure when it came on. I was eighteen again. That takes some doing.

Avatar 9:58am
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Coltrane is Home. For me - the only one to rival Hendrix for top honors in many respects.
- 'We only saw the manic side' - the RW thing is shocking for just that reason I think C'ec - he seemed so life affirming - not like he was washed up w/ no job offers, unadmired or under-appreciated - entirely the contrary - tho' of course glenn is right. In hindsight - seems so very Manic; some may think him too cute or mainstream or something - but was he not Improv genius of the highest order ?? Wow. & his voice meant something - w/ his social commentary & continuous charitable work. Very very sad.

ausmanx:

i just wish the media would have some perspective on this stuff. a 63-year-old who had a very privileged life choosing to end it all isn't "tragic". it may be a bit sad, but 1000 women and children being slaughtered in Gaza is tragic.
