Hello Sam. It's my first time hearing your show, and this start is making me regret I'm this late on the bandwagon

Dead Mime Walking:

Hey gang! Get ready for another classic Sam Segal summertime southern-fried rock block.
  3:10pm
Dean:

Fitting, this track, after discussion on Tony Coulter's stream revolved around the distractions of broadcasting from home when the neighbor is running a lawnmower.

Hiya, Sam, and all.

Hello, Sam.

@fred - I think its still pretty early in Sam's broadcast career (based on how many previous playlists there are). You will still be considered an early adopter at this point, I think. Plenty of room on the wagon.

Digging this lawnmower, continuing the lawnmower theme of Tony's show.

@Mike East: Or as Liars said: there's always room on the broom (how I wish I had a T-shirt of that cover... I guess I should get one made)

Lovin' this show, Sam! Was just in Petoskey a couple weeks ago. Also, just wanna point out that "Father Cannot Yell" is a Can cover! Never heard it before - thanks!

For some reason, that Acid track reminded me of the Matmos track that was a bunch of surgery noises.

I haven't clicky-starred any specific track, just the whole show. The way these two first set were put together was really great
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:06pm
Dead Mime Walking:

Fred, if, in light of that major flub, you want to revoke your star, I wouldn't fault you.
Avatar 4:08pm
Bayta:

I'm clicky-starring the shit out of this show, both individual tracks and the whole episode. And no, that minor flub doesn't take anything away from its awesomeness.
Avatar 4:08pm
northguineahills:

Good idea Fred, it's hard to keep up. And it's annoying when I miss a great track when I step away.

This Ghetto Bros. cut is great

....oh - FlowerTraveling persons - as recommended by Julian Cope
...& also getting a comment in on ground floor of this bespoke broom (must be very large - hopefully w/ a Marvel Comics stylee diagram to navigate by)...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:11pm

@Sam: No way. That's part of live shows, I wouldn't have it any other way. My favorite memory of a dance show (and I'm a huge contemporary dance fan) was seeing my favorite dancer slip, fall, and recover.

I have to find this MX-80. I have the vinyl, but not this track. this was great.
Avatar 4:14pm

the original mix of Hard Attack was pretty crappy, looks like they are remastering it right.
Avatar 4:14pm

@Revolution Rabbit - Flower Travelling Band's Satori is one of the most perfect records ever. Give it a listen pronto, if you haven't already.

Sam, is that bonus track available via the digital DL card?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:17pm

@RRN63: It says it's large enough on the label: mute.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:17pm
Dead Mime Walking:

I grabbed that off of the bonus disc of the superior viaduct CD reissue
Avatar 4:22pm
Cecile:

is there a CD reish? I gotta find it.
Avatar 4:23pm

It's not really skronk funk. It's more like laser sax and guitars boucing off mirrors.

...How I love commenting gratuitously like this ON W-F-M-U !!!...
  5:03pm
Dean:

First semester law school, torts, the professor explains why we don't award damages for pain and suffering when personal property is damaged, even if it was a unique ceramic teapot given to you by your great-grandmother on her deathbed: "We don't want people to cathect on mere physical objects."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:07pm
fred:

@RRN63: "gratuitous" both means "unwarranted" and "not involving a return benefit". I think most of your comments are of the latter kind. I like words, so I'm biased.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:10pm
fred:

@Dean: Did that professor also strike you with a bamboo stick seemingly gratuitously? It reminds me of zen stories more than of damages for emotional suffering claims

Rev. Turnip Druid:

  5:19pm
Dean:

@fred: Not at all. In fact, I adore the professor to this day. She was one of the highlights of law school, an entirely pleasant person with an intimidating intellect that was a wonder to behold. I once told her that her classes gave me stomach aches, which is true. But I kept going back for more. The "cathect" comment was completely warranted, too. In one sentence she illuminated a bridge both linking and separating fairness (call it justice) and policy.

Great Zen joke! Reminds me of this one, which has more of a suburban flavor: http://topjokes.blogspot.com/2006/10/cat-on-roof.html

That was Uku Kuut off of an album called Grand Hotel. Believe the cut was called Feel So Far.

Thanks
Avatar 5:35pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

YAY.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:37pm
fred:

@Dean: Nice joke, and not that far apart from the zen one. Though there are very few women in zen stories, and even then they were only bystanders in those I read. Another reason not to take zen stories too seriously. Which might be the plan anyway
Avatar 5:39pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

Sorry chums, I'm going to have to yay again...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:42pm

@RTD: Yay away man. Personally I just clicky-starred the whole thing and yayed it all for the record. But you've missed so much...
