Great Gary! Saw Cheap Trick on Austin City Limits a little while back & thot how great they were.
...I can say my 1st were the Ramones (aside from county fair country bands & such) - & that works for me!...

San Francisco has "Rad Dog" -- www.missionmission.org...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:37pm

7 goals is the most scored in a single game in the history of the sport, right?

In Astrology, a Grand Trine is three things all the Trine aspect (angle) of 120°s (the most 'flowing' aspect) to each other. Dawg.

I'm marking them all, Simon.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:54pm

If you mark the abyss, the abyss also marks you. I think Nietzche said that.

That Nat cut was thoroughly charming.

S'up, phreaky-deaks.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:02pm

Or possibly -deeks. I'm never sure.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:10pm
Nate K:

Doesn't "Devil's Haircut" also sample Them? "I Can Only Give You Everything"? Bringing things to some sort of circle...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:16pm
Amanda:

@Nate, that's right -- he does sample that song in Devil's Haircut! And I completely meant to do that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:20pm
listener james from westwood:

Ah, good to hear some Procol Harum that isn't those two usual cuts. Not that I don't dig 'em; you just never hear anything BUT them on NYC radio. Kinda like Thin Lizzy; you get one or two tunes of theirs on non-FMU stations and that's almost it.

(Kent Brockman): "and for some reason this constitutes news".
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:35pm
listener james from westwood:

The whole cowboy genre is so alien to today's viewers. Even "Deadwood" got called a Western initially when it's more of a show about how civilization begins. But the whole "Simpsons" writing crew grew up on 50s/60s TV horse operas. "Blazing Saddles" seems like the dividing line; if you were alive to see it in the theater, you could laugh at it as a parody of things you've seen on big or small screen.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:36pm
listener james from westwood:

PS. Now I'm whistling the "Magnif. 7" theme. :P
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:37pm

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:37pm

Wondered whether the lovely Rockport tune from earlier was referencing Rockport, MA, btw.

The great Uniques!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:42pm

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:47pm

I just took an epic spill outdoors, of course in front of a beautiful woman who came to my rescue and gave me back my watch which I had left behind in my embarrassment. I thought my arm was broken, had no feeling in it for a while, but it looks OK now. My ego's pretty bruised though
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:47pm
Brian in UK:

Nice one, james. Wacko title, Gladys.
Avatar 1:48pm
ndbob:

Wow - glad you are OK fred!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:49pm
Brian in UK:

Get some steak for that ego, fred.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:50pm
listener james from westwood:

@fred: Yikes! Good to hear nothing's broken! Do hit a doc's office if the numbness persists.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:50pm
Uncle Michael:

leggo my ego...unless you're serving steak and eggos
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:50pm
Doug Schulkind:

So sorry, fred! Hope you're feeling less bruised, inside and out. Given the disastrous Brazilian effort yesterday, it's been a bad couple of days for Freds.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:51pm
Brian in UK:

Is that Specs O'Hooligan, the Terrible Terrier in the drawing?

Seriously fred, Do what james said if it continues.

- Healing power to thee <+> (infallible magic symbol), Fred!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:54pm
fred:

@ndbob: OK, but humbled, arm's fine I guess, nothing like the beating our friends in Brazil took. I wish I had the sense to get her number. I don't have a phone though, so I guess it's better that way
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:56pm
Amanda:

@efd -- right?? If you love "Brandy" and crave more sad love songs...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:56pm
Brian in UK:

What diction.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:57pm
listener james from westwood:

Loving the Keith Moon track! And of course the programme. Thanks!!
Avatar 1:57pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...man this Moon person has a distinctive voice...if *he* sang about Brandy, he'd know whereof he spoke...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:58pm
Brian in UK:

Brandy Alexander was his tipple. I believe.
Avatar 1:58pm
ndbob:

excellent show Amanda!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:59pm

I wish I'm that good when I'm 64, and I sure wish Keith Moon had made it to that age
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:01pm

Thanks Amanda!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:01pm
Jeff Golick:

Thanks, Amanda. Certainly made filling out this expense report a lot more enjoyable that it otherwise would've been...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:02pm
Amanda:

Expense reports, ewww! I hope you get reimbursed a lot, anyway. Thank you all so much for listening! See you very soon, all. xoxox
