Good afternoon, Matt -- your listener daddy is here! Hey, I have this 45!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:02pm

Hello everybody, relatives or not!
Avatar 2:04pm
pacific standard simon:

Got this CD, too. Love the grade-school Japanese intros for most of the songs.

listener james from westwood:

Was reading Matt Taibbi's "The Divide" last night. Deals partly w/ the NYC incarceration-industrial complex. Had "Police Truck" come on during that chapter, I'd have holed my drywall.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:07pm
Artie:

I feel relatively friendly. Howdy all!

The steady influence of Rex and Matt and other 45-heads on FMU is beginning to reawaken the casual collector in me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:23pm

Don't do it.

First symptom: bought a 7" storage box for proper organization and protection.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:25pm
Uncle Michael:

I suggest reparative therapy.
Avatar 2:27pm
pacific standard simon:

Second symptom: Discovered that those bags and boards that Midtown Comics mails comics in will fit picture sleeves, too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:28pm
Artie:

It's all over at the third storage box.

The annual Island Rummage Sale is in two weeks -- if I come home with an armful of useless vinyl, it'll be WFMU's fault.

If TEF had to choose between getting hot kisses and eating goober peas...would he have a breakdown?
Avatar 2:36pm
pacific standard simon:

Hot kisses and eating boiled peanuts ain't exclusive of each other.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:37pm
Uncle Michael:

He'd do the Shotgun Boogie.

I like this song. That is all.

The Jive Five (with the great Eugene Pitt on lead) were the first Black music act I saw live. Westchester Country high school gym show when I was in eighth grade... Marshall Crenshaw covered this song on his second Warners album.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:47pm

Uncle Michael, last winter when I went to Florida, the security procedure at the airport required me to get my luggage x-rayed, go thru the check-in process, and get my ticket punched by a TSA supervisor. The line for the x-ray was enormous and the line for the check-in desk was out the door, but fortunately, there was no punch line.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:50pm
Uncle Michael:

Parq, I just need to know if you're going to be here all week.
Avatar 3:52pm
