Michael from the Left Coast:

I've joined late and I'm in the middle of seventeen things but I see the Motors on the playlist and I have a question for the group--why weren't the Motors bigger? Even Bram Tchaikovsky and Tom Robinson Band had bigger "hits" than the Motors did but they Motors did fine work.

Michael ftLC I wish I had an answer for that... I agree, they had several radio-worthy tunes, including the one I played. I don't know why none of them caught on even within the limited new wave/punk realm that gave attention to the other artists you mention.

wiki says it was initially left off the LP, then once it broke the LP was re-pressed with Brother Louie. Kama Sutra even stuck some original copies of the record inside sleeves that listed Brother Louie!

Speaking of, there will be not one but TWO copies of Brother Louie for sale at table B12 Sunday at the record fair!
