Barrie:

This track is great, but I always think of "My Sharona" when I listen to the bass...
Avatar 6:19am
bibi:

Sem Chumbo:

This is very fine, the talking/singing thing, and that orchestration doing the heavy emotional lifting. Nice, Marty.

@ausmanx: the track lives on in the archives;) How's autumn? Not aflame, I hope.

ausmanx:

bloody cold, sem! and i suspect there are greater delights to be found in the archive!

ausmanx:

it's been all downhill for Tarantino since he was smart enough to use this, i reckon...

Marty McSorley:

yeah how you use another movie theme song for your movie's theme song. . . (i really like jackie brown though) and you know the cool color tile work in LAX in the opening? my great grandpa was one of the tile setters that made that!
Avatar 7:31am
ausmanx:

that opening sequence is SUPERB. i think Jackie B's his best film, actually. i thought Django was awful... that's the kind of thing you can be PROUD of great grandpas for!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:36am
Guido from Cologne:

.... while the opening sequence itself is a paraphrase of the opening sequence from "The Graduate" 8the famous "Sounds of Silence" sequence). The entire Jackie Brown is stuffed with quotations from earlier movies.

Guten TZAG everyone!

Good afternoon! Tarantinos style is making sorta mashups, that's the fun of the films.

Will Smith gets a solid B for his Rakim impersonation on this one.

Morning, Marty and fellow listeners! I don't know what the subject is, but I must say Will Smith has my unreserved admiration because I grew up watching Fresh Prince of Bel Air.

When you dish out the hits, Marty, a person has to wear a hockey helmet. Thanks, and see you next time.
