As a non-native East coaster, I am still amused by all of the regional terms for sandwiches in this part of the U.S. Hoagie, hero, grinder, sub, etc. And Wawa is such a hilarious name for a convenience store!

in the netherlands they sell a dish with fries and ground nut sauce, mayonaise, ketchup and onions and the call it "hospital fries" and there is one with ground nut sauce and mayonaise they call it 'war fries'.....they have all kinds of crazy names for dishes with fries...fries waterbicycle, fries hairdresser.....

@kosta, IDK about Nepal but much street food in other SE Asian countries is excellent, esp. the crispy crunchy fried bananas. Carpe diem (or carpe foodum). Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam have the French influence & thus have great street baguettes everywhere too, w/lovely sandwich fixings.

the bar I used to work at had previously been in business selling iron on tee shirts. About 50% of them were "9/11 Never Forget" themed. When business was struggling at the bar, they gave away a teeshirt with every drink. They closed down and turned it into a hipster bar.
