A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

Of course in cases like that, you don't know whether the problem was with the electric design or the person who installed the door. Had it been hinged on the other side, would that have led to other problems?

Science wise, I am putting on growing demonstrations of cukes and tomatoes inside of "high tunnels" which are merely unheated passively ventilated greenhouses on crop land which are used for season extension and intensive production on small areas- these are demos for RI growers to come look at to see trellising and organic fertilizing techniques. I sample soil and leaf tissue to assess whether or not plants are in tip top nutritional status; also monitor disease and insect pests and when necessary, employ and assess various products labeled for organic.

Robert:

Thanks, Andy, best wishes with it.

Hi Trouble!

Don't worry about foreign prononciations. I find it always touching how American people make the utmost efforts to pronounce foreign languages as well as possible. To think that, take French for instance, there is hardly a single voyel or consonant, even the simplest ones, that is the same sound than in english!

Greetings, Trouble, from the English Midlands. Hey, I've been wondering if you have a discography for your "bed music" that you'd be willing to share? I was visiting Isabelle (whose artwork you featured here) in France, week before last, and decided to start learning the birds in French. I have a nice CD that comes with the LPO (Ligue Pour la Protection des Oiseaux) guide, but I'd love to get my hands on some of these vintage recordings. Merci!
