Sonofnothing - Wallkill, NY:
Guido from Cologne:
For sure I hate Heidegger for bothering the reader with his horrible syntax constructions (more focus on syntax constructions than essencial ideas ... obnoxious).
Russel was good in explaining things (read his history of philosophy).
Wittgenstein helped to put the focus on building blocks of thoughts and kicked some inpulses into informatics.
Walter Benjamin put the right questions long before the dawn of Andy Warhol.
bibi:
@fred, yr list suggested well you are not a sentimental one.
fred:
mariano:
@fred: well, give the guy a break, he did have syphilis! Besides, the whole Uebermensch thing gets overemphasized with him, I believe. But I do appreciate Russell's bitchiness.

Sean D. Daily:
Who was very rarely stable.
Heidegger, Heidegger was a boozy beggar
Who could think you under the table.
David Hume could out-consume
Schopenhauer and Hegel,
And Wittgenstein was a beery swine
Who was just as schloshed as Schlegel.
There's nothing Nietzsche couldn't teach ya'
'Bout the raising of the wrist.
Socrates himself was permanently pissed...
John Stuart Mill, of his own free will,
On half a pint of shandy was particularly ill.
Plato, they say, could stick it away;
Half a crate of whiskey every day.
Aristotle, Aristotle was a bugger for the bottle,
Hobbes was fond of his dram,
And Rene Descartes was a drunken fart: "I drink, therefore I am"
Yes, Socrates, himself, is particularly missed;
A lovely little thinker but a bugger when he's pissed!
(thanks to Monty Python, BTW)
