Favoriting Bryce: Playlist from March 28, 2014 Favoriting

I never miscue a record. I am punctual, well-prepared, and dislike clutter. Outgoing and helpful, I'm always appropriately dressed. I do not behave erratically and have excellent penmanship. My CD's never skip, and I am in good health. I like all the notes, in any order.

always appreciate your show, Bryce. by the way - there's a piece you've played that Ashley performs on as vocalist - he reads from a buddhist text, i think ... no his composition, tho. does that ring any bells? i'd love to find out what it is.

hey Bryce. never felt like i "got" Ashley's Perfect Lives and related spoken word oriented work until just now. pretty incredible once you get under the spell.

also does anyone remember... do i recall correctly Kurt interviewed RA and then did his "pop songs picked by avant garde musicians" segment and Ashley chose a new commercial pop country song that baffled everyone?

I've been finding something very familiar about Robert Ashley's voice, and it finally occurred to me that I'd seen his collaboration with pianist 'Blue' Gene Tyranny on a video opera at the Kitchen in the early 80s. It took some googling, but I found the details here:
