	5:43pm Parq: I haven't watched it, rrg, but here's an interesting tidbit. Carl Sagan's widow was quoted in a New Yorker profile of Tyson that they went with Fox because it was the only network that offered them the time with no strings attached.

ABC wanted equal time for Flying Spaghetti Monsterism, and PBS insisted it shouldn't go beyond the comprehension of 7-year olds and would need to pause for fundraiser for 8 minutes of every half-hour. All FOX wanted was to "sex it up".
	5:52pm Parq: RRG, various sorts of editorial control -- script approval, power of veto as to subject matter, that kinda things. Apparently, on this point, Fox decided it really would be fair and balanced.

	5:55pm Ike: Actually it's on Fox because of Seth MacFarlane, oddly enough, despite the mind-numbing stupidity of Family Guy, a big hit that puts him in an influential position w/Fox. He was a big fan of Sagan's Cosmos and got Fox to fund this new version.

All FOX wanted was to "sex it up".
