A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

You have to pledge the amount they ask. I pledged in advance as a prize account, and unless there is a special prize for "Mouse of Today" people who pledge in advance, I have to pony up the money the premium requires.

Most rennet today is artificial.
but the cows need calves for producing milk.
most of the calves get saughtered.
depends of what your goals are.
if you're straight about no animal-killing at all, so no milk products.
If you're just about reducing mass-meat-production some cheese might be still ok.

somehow, pure veganism is not achievable.
it is a global question and taking it hardcore is not always the best way to make things change.
being reasonable and 'disturbing' the meat industry is already a good start.

@ Andrew- you're right about soy. Like most things, it is good in moderation. I lean more towards veggies, lentils and rice myself...

I guess you could make an argument that the fairly unique solidarity of Revolutionaries & Workers in Paris68 (the U.S. didn't come close to that) prefigured CrowdSourcing in a way; FMU isn't broadly challenging the Government (of course) - but as StnMgr. Ken notes - it *does* have the distinction of *enduring* !! (It Works!)

Radical veganism tends to produce bad promotion.
My humble opinion.

"rennet" is just the culture "starter" for the fermentation that produces the cheese. (This is all quite apart from the "unpleasant" details about rennet that you might read.)
Helpful?

when animal, its a 'side' product of the meat industry.
not a big deal on the political side to me.

Near dumping levele prices for food and usury levele fees for real estate is a ecological and economical problem as a whole.

'You don't eat animals - what *do* you eat?!'
- Uh - *everything* else.
'How do you know you're getting enuff protein?!"
- uh - eat till you're not hungry. Seems just fine...maybe some kid or fanatic might not get a balanced diet - & I *do* eat a good amount of egg & dairy (which are in so many things anyhow!)...
@P-90: I see your point - the calf just 'happens' to have been slaughtered - aw well - & bibi's point too that a little rennet likely makes much cheese...lots to ponder...
