Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:07pm Doug Schulkind:

Welcome aboard, Aurélie E!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:08pm Parq:

Joining a few minutes late. This doesn't sound at *all* like Cole Porter.
Avatar 6:09pm ndbob:

hello Aurelie and Parq!
Avatar 6:09pm Holly in NC:

Hi Doug & all -

Loss of Pete Seeger devastating. I hurt all over. So NOT listening to SoU tonight, I think I'd throw things.

Brighter note - we *may* get snow tonight, if so will take wee children for first sledding tomorrow! Meanwhile, just friggin' cold ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:09pm Doug Schulkind:

@Parq
Pole Corter, more like. But still quite catchy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:10pm Parq:

What Aurélie said about the prog. title, by the way.
Avatar 6:11pm ndbob:

Heya Holly!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:11pm Doug Schulkind:

@Holly in NC
I have been weepy all day.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:15pm Gary:

This Mr. Reijseger guy is insanely great.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:15pm Parq:

Allow me to present again (as I did on Joe Belock's playlist) the best by far of the dozen or so print pieces on Pete that I read during a lunch break today.

Avatar 6:16pm ndbob:

I usually skip the SoU even though I follow politics pretty closely - not because I'd throw things but because they are so drawn out and boring - I will read the transcript instead
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:16pm Doug Schulkind:

Werner Herzog says that Reijseger could play the entire American Civiul War on the cello. It was meant as a compliment.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:17pm Doug Schulkind:

We got some hot cello-on-cello action in this piece. And piano.
Avatar 6:17pm ndbob:

This is really good Doug
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:17pm Gary:

I just saw that (I had to Google this guy after hearing this stuff so far) ... I'm just going to cry, it's so good.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:18pm Doug Schulkind:

Exactly, Gary.
Avatar 6:19pm Holly in NC:

@Parq - Thank you. Now I'm weepy again, but in a good way.
Avatar 6:20pm Aurélie E:

@parq I just said I love the title "I Love You So Much It Hurts" it remembers me a french movie I watched two days ago "De L'amour" by Jean Aurel
@ndbob hi!
Avatar 6:21pm Aurélie E:

@doug did Herzog used Reijseger in soundtrack?? That sounds just like his type of music!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:24pm Doug Schulkind:

@Aurélie E
Yes yes yes! Herzog has used Reijseger's music for numerous films! More than soundtracks, really, the music is almost a character in the films.
Avatar 6:26pm hyde:

I like this Reijseger stuff fine, but frankly I'm going to need an hour or so of Ohio Express and 1910 Fruitgum Company tunes just to get back into balance
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:27pm Doug Schulkind:

Yummy yummy yummy, hyde.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:28pm Parq:

Okay, revising prior comment to say I, individually, dig the title of today's programme.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:29pm Doug Schulkind:

Reijseger has appeared on more than 150 records. Every damn one of them is this good.

@Parq
The title is pretty happy with you, too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:33pm Doug Schulkind:

Next up, Ernst with one of his long-time collaborators, Scottish percussionist Alan "Gunga" Purves.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:35pm Doug Schulkind:

Haha! My daughter is downstairs practicing her viola right now. I am so tempted to run a mic down there.
