Favoriting Bryce: Playlist from November 29, 2013 Favoriting

I never miscue a record. I am punctual, well-prepared, and dislike clutter. Outgoing and helpful, I'm always appropriately dressed. I do not behave erratically and have excellent penmanship. My CD's never skip, and I am in good health. I like all the notes, in any order.

cool, fred, thanks! yeah, hoping people wouldn't be burned out on the man yet. literally found out at the beginning of my show last week, so didn't have my parmegiani suitcase with me.
Avatar 12:21pm
Bryce:

did a parmegiani tribute 6 or 7 years ago. there may be some overlap, but i'll try not to too much. (archives that old are in mono anyway, i think...)

Somebody threw gravy on the hood of my car at the salvation army one time. smelt great driving home but looked like baby crap.

Brian in UK:

Hello Bryce. Sad news. Side bar, Boris Vian is a hero in this house.
Avatar 2:26pm
Looms:

Easy to understand nonetheless: Parmegiani worked for the GRM which is a national "institution" and Stade2 was aired on national TV. They just asked one of the best to do the work.
Avatar 2:27pm
Looms:

@Brian: Boris Vian is a hero here at home and in my family too.
Avatar 2:29pm
Bryce:

doesn't seem like many people outside of france know about him! i guess his writing's pretty untranslatable....
Avatar 2:30pm
Bryce:

ever come across this?

youtu.be...
Avatar 2:32pm
Looms:

NEVER! Thanks, it's great.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:33pm
Brian in UK:

@Looms there is a Boris Vian Centre somewhere close to Paris I believe. Saoud Massi played there not so long ago.
His jazz writings are/were very perceptive.

@Bryce his 'Froth on a Daydream' was very Sixties in translation by Penguin and as for Heartsnatcher. Well.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:37pm
Brian in UK:

Bryce have you got the 'Pataphysics CD prepared by Andrew Hugill thought Sonic Arts Network?
Avatar 2:38pm
Bryce:

got those and "i spit on your graves" — love love 'em! but i know there's a dimension of wordplay i'll always be missing, at least till i learn my way around french.
Avatar 2:39pm
Bryce:

no, i don't have that!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:40pm

Can I send you a copy?

I was disappointed when I was Charles de Gaulle airport and they had discontinued the alert beep that Parmegiani engineered.
Avatar 2:45pm
Bryce:

nooo! that's too bad. what's next, the alan parsons escalators??
Avatar 2:46pm
Bryce:

brian, that would be amazing! those sonic arts book/CDs are lovely — vicki's sent me a couple!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:48pm

Will do, Bryce in time.

Brian, I'm sure Parmegiani would see no harm in our discussion about BV while his music is aired. He loved his work.
