- yes we were discussing #3 on Faye's other night: '(Hey Baby) Land of the New Rising Sun' by Jimi (& maybe some others) - by way of 'Starship Trooper' by Yes (well - more #3 than this one)...

Morning. Ah the record fair. Someday...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:25am
Mike East:

Saturday is my first day off in two weeks which means I'll have a bit more cash than usual. I plan on heading over there early. Is the record fair an inappropriate place to bring a well behaved one year old (see avatar)?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:30am
Liz Berg:

Kids are welcome at the Record Fair. We're screening Miss Pussycat's new puppet movie at 10am on Saturday, there will be a merry-go-round (maybe too advanced for a 1-year-old), and a craft station set up, too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:31am

quality Shjips song
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:58am

This Shjips song reminds me a lot of something by Martijn De Kleer from Pink Dots. This has a more driving beat though.

Rob:

Hey! Thanks for the show. I was showing my friend WFMU this morning, and we heard Quintron and Miss P and now Wooden Shjips. I was laughing because I play in a band CAVE, that opened up for both of those bands on our recent US tour RIGHT before visiting this friend. Haha, I love coincidences, thanks!

I've heard murmurings about this pajama pants infestation but I didn't know it had gotten so bad. Eek. Was this on the L train in Hipsterburg? Hell NO to pajama pants.
  11:09am
sua:

IS this really the first time you have seen this? I saw a mom wearing pajama pants in Mickey D's yesterday. I guess I should have been expecting that there, but the pajama pants as pants are so prevalent they have been banned from the high school.

sua:

oh i live in PA - maybe bad fashion slowly trickles into NYC
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:10am
tim from champaign:

I'm with you, Liz! That style is too popular on college campuses. My wife even saw a student a few weeks ago wearing pajamas and a blanket while going to class. Not a poncho but a straight up blanket.
Avatar 11:11am

have seen women in pajamas...in a restaurant...seemingly very much at ease...that was in china though
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:12am

I've seen pajama pants in public on college campuses, but not on the N train on a Saturday night! These guys were going out to party!

i was invited by a coworker to a Saturday night "pajama party" themed party in a public place in Williamsburg a few months ago. so cringeworthy.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:19am

street corner drug dealers started wearing pj's outside about ten years go. It was gangsta, cuz they got it like that. Yuppies on trains now is just an example of trickle down.
Avatar 11:21am
northguineahills:

Hey, I was wearing pajama pants out 15 years ago. Usually just to the grocery store or to get beer, or to some weird party. Don't think I'd do it in NYC, it seems to dirty, and weird on public transit. Don't mind doing it if I'm just driving my car to the store in non-NYC suburbia.
Avatar 11:21am
northguineahills:

Of course, they had pockets....
  11:21am
david from ks:

,,,The fashion trend of Kurt Cobain continues that began in Japan when he requested a good pair of them for the first concert. Also my late best friend used to wear the cotton flannel kind quite frequently in public. More gin U wine and practical than Hugh Hefners regular attire!
