Did you play murk last time? Sent me on a quest for their stuff.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:20pm
Ike:

So as a fill-in for Irwin, are you contractually compelled to tell a droll story about how awful the U.S. Postal Service is, and how all of its employees are the worst, nastiest, most entitled people to have ever existed in the history of the universe?
  3:22pm
Cecile:

Sigh....Ike

Too on-the-nose, Cecile? I'm trying to work on that.

I assure you I do not force Irwin to tell any story... or do anything else.

...does 'Grumblin' Fur' mean we're *still* Doin' the Dawg theme after Ken *&* Nazzario - ?!?...

"Holland Tunnel Dive" cover?

I was just enjoying Jack's ... different vibe.

And, tim, right on. I saw them on that tour and they killed it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:27pm

you got it, tim! good call, my man.
  3:27pm
Cecile:

Well, thanks for turning me on to Murk, then, Jack.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:28pm
Ike:

Droll, ha ha, if it had been a Droll story instead of a droll story, it would have been capitalized. But you know that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:33pm
tim from champaign:

I've never heard of Daniele Baldelli & Marco Dionigi. I really dug it. Thanks for heppin' me to something new, Jack.

@cecile, what year was the tour you saw?
Avatar 3:34pm
Droll:

I guess you're right, I don't have anti-USPS stories and everyone knows Irwin isn't even the boss of Irwin anyhow. I'm generally confused -- we used to have a Jack Mello on KEXP (maybe even KCMU?) here in Seattle, sounds just like this guy. I confuse easily.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:14pm
Jack Mello:

ha! sorry 'bout that, BDR!
Avatar 4:14pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...since it's the 'Jimi' spelling - I'll review the new PBS American Masters on Hendrix as worth watching & fun for enthusiasts, but not very deep for a two hour documentary (nothing on, say, Hendrix's relation to Jazz). The Lou Reed one that naturally has been shown lately was a little better this way, I think. ...I appreciate it, because getting these people exposed in mainstream media has been difficult because they've always represented drugs & degradation & the rejection of their values generally to those people - despite their obvious (to us) Artistic importance...

Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- a Fela Kuti doc. would be something; I'm not sure he had any bones left the authorities hadn't broken @ least once (for example)...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:22pm
Mike East:

a Jimi Hendrix musical can't be too far off in the future.
Avatar 4:22pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...well - this new doc. interviewed a lot of people who really knew Hendrix & created a good portrait of him that way - no misinformed idiocy; Sadly, given the history of such things - this alone is a strong positive...
Avatar 4:26pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- reportedly Andre 3000 will star in a bio film. This is even scarier - but it all depends! Seems the family ~ rights holders have not wanted to sign over rights to his music or songs to any project - & maybe they've been wise!...

Avatar 4:30pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...thing about iconic RockStars - they're such multi-faceted - & charismatic, by definition - figures already - so getting some schlump to write & another to portray...Todd Haynes did well to have six people play Dylan impressionistically !...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:30pm
tim from champaign:

I'd like to watch those American Experiences. The Jonestown American Experience is probably one of my favorite docs. Jimi was the first musician I flipped my lid over as a young teenager, Lou/Velvets probably #2. I wonder why I like noisy guitars so much?
Avatar 4:31pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- interesting Steve !
Avatar 4:35pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...so yeah - I prefer a good documentary (& those hard enuff to find) - or just go all impressionistic (like Todd Haynes does). It's the drammas make the bucks though.
