Favoriting Bryce: Playlist from October 25, 2013 Favoriting

I never miscue a record. I am punctual, well-prepared, and dislike clutter. Outgoing and helpful, I'm always appropriately dressed. I do not behave erratically and have excellent penmanship. My CD's never skip, and I am in good health. I like all the notes, in any order.

wow, searching my county library's resources for Xenakis yields one DVD of "String recordings" and three articles. No other music available. For shame, Cuyahoga County.

This Kubisch track is excellent. Interesting to read that no electronic sound sources were used.

I'm very angry about podcasts
I'm very angry about podcasts

Bryce:

you're just angry because kurt loder gets all the props
  12:48pm
angry podcast guy:

This app for podcasts called "icatcher" said you could transfer the downloaded podcasts to computer... Well it can't and the makes angry:-(

@Looms: She's one of those people I've heard about forever, and listened to bits and pieces, but never investigated fully. Time to dive in, I think.
Avatar 12:52pm

oh man, i really love the stuff she did with fabrizio plessi. wonder if there are some reissues still around...

I'm a very angry podcast guy! I want to save all my podcasts to my new 1 terabyte portable hard drive!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:59pm

Alright! I really dig the Chris Watson recordings. I recently picked up the first 2 Cabaret Voltaire albums after Watson left. Not too bad.
Avatar 1:01pm

@Bryce: never managed to get myself a copy of the Kubisch/Plessi reissues
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:02pm

I just noticed this morning that Watson did a 12" companion to this CD, with two alternate mixes.

Chicken soup for lunch. And soup for dinner. I'm a soup lover. But I'm still angry I can't save my podcasts:-(

They are just files. There has to be a way to export them.

wow, george, didn't know! really love this piece.

I bought every podcast app in apples store and still can't find a way to get them off the itouch and into the external drive
Grrr:-( it makes me very angry:-(
Avatar 1:06pm
InBrkly:

I don't know that mac way of doing it. On other platforms I use foobar2k which has file utilities. That is ok for copying 1 or 2 audio streams. I don't know what I'd do for a collection. It would suck to copy them one at a time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:08pm

fantastico!

Yep, really stunning.

Not sure "angry podcast guy" is for real, but try Senuti.
Avatar 1:24pm
Droll:

It's not quite that onerous, I've found you only need to download half of Bryce's show. The other half can be reproduced by playing a downloaded show backwards.
Avatar 1:24pm
Bryce:

or just slow down the first half
Avatar 1:29pm
Droll:

[pondering the implications of multiple techniques, used in different combinations]
Indeed, there is probably just one 3.5 minute pop song from which all the shows are derived.
Avatar 1:33pm
Bryce:

NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! *poof*
Avatar 1:33pm
Mr. Lowry:

I gotta know, which pop song?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:34pm

It's nice to see you're not allowing yourself to be constrained by the 7" format, Bryce!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:35pm

oops, the boss just walked by, and I had this LOUD!!
Avatar 1:38pm

i actually really love doing 7" week! just been away, basically the entire month, so no time to assemble a good show. :(

it is nice that nothing's draconian around here.

About this space on the ground floor FMU is building. I did not hear anything about a BAR or something that you can get a non alcoholic drink from?
Avatar 2:06pm
Bryce:

a bar would be amazing.....but it might end in a tent city.
Avatar 2:08pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

A bar with all decor in reindeer-hide? That would be max fab.
  2:09pm
angry podcast guy:

If your going to have live music of course you need bathrooms. But also a place to drink. Some one might be a diabetic and need liquid refreshment
Avatar 2:11pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

The reindeer hide would satisfy my personal medical needs (contact with taxidermy or equivalent every 3-4 hrs or shit gets weird).
  2:17pm
that diabetic guy:

Often times ppl like myself with diabetes are often left out
  2:18pm
that diabetic guy:

Where ever I go I have to make sure of two things. A place to pee and water or some sugar free drink
Avatar 2:24pm
Bryce:

i think the idea isn't quite to set up a clubby sort of capital-V venue — that would involve a whole dedicated staff and just be a Business to get into. this would be more an extension of what we already do, sort of like wnyc's green space, but, you know, more....fmu-y.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:25pm
DCE:

huff them fmu-s
Avatar 2:26pm
Bryce:

at least until RTD gets popped hocking salvia-infused Miracle Fruit and gets us shut down
Avatar 2:29pm
Droll:

I like the idea of a Studio 54 style velvet rope with a bouncer picking people to let in. I think Andy Breckman is the perfect bouncer because he's got such a keen eye for what's hip and he's so good with strangers.
Avatar 2:30pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

Firstly, ALL fruits are miracle fruits.
Secondly, I have no idea what I'm saying.

Avatar 2:32pm

i sure would like a few miracle fruits. a-whole foods, i'm looking at you.

Maybe a vending machine in the corner selling bottled water for $3 dollars.
I guess as long as there is a toilet I'll bring my own bottled water
Avatar 2:35pm
