Holadios!7:29am : Ha! You take the birthday cake, Frank! :)7:30am : Hunaja, I should "jog" your memory about proper English preposition usage. ;) "on" not "to" a jog. But it will be TO a job in a couple of minutes.7:32am : Before signing off: DJ Spooky was into Philip K. Dick during this album phase.... PKD was instrumental in getting kat & I together. Rev. and Mauri?7:51am : Is this a remix or did they jam?7:52am : remix!7:53am : This sounds like John Lee riffing over an old Doors' record.7:56am : Personally, I think they should get that Morrison guy out of there and let Hooker take over.7:56am : Brilliant Roadhouse number.7:57am : That Doors/JL Hooker mash-up was perfect. Who put it together?7:59am : yes!... all of the above.
Ken: cool. eh?

Just got back home to listen the show...8:27am : Schedule-wise, looks as though never the twain shall meet, meaning Philo the Finn and you. Now if he got the slew of Federal and bank holidays many do, then more often.8:33am : Hiya - ! Hadda sleep in. 'Section 43' very kewl in the 'Monterey Pop' film...8:34am : I knew if I stayed tuned to fxo I'd hear Joe and the Fish again. Takes me back.8:34am : Today is my birthday...I'm 46 years old:-(8:36am : Happy Birthday, Dave! 46 is a spring chicken to me, so SMILE!! :)8:37am : Happy B'day Dave8:38am : Thank you kat330!8:38am : ...loves 1st album - 'Electric Music for Mind & Body' - an interesting comparison to 1sts by the Dead, Floyd - & plagiarized notably by Ultimate Spinach, this track - altho' I love them too...
- Hullo fellow Dave! I'm 50 on Sunday. I don't understand it >@ all<. I'm mentally five (International Poster-Child for Birth-Order Babies), so presume it's a decimal error...8:39am : I didn't think ide make it to 46 given all my health problems8:39am : Well, Rabbit, you'll get the birthday gift of an extra hour next week!8:39am : Dave: happy birthday, and check in for your intake.
Mr. Babbs, I presume?
Rev: good call. Their moment in "Monterey Pop!" is psychedelically phenomenal.8:42am : Beginning the day with a shot of insulin:( my bg is a bit high8:42am : Happy birthday week! Dave, RR
Birthday week means you must catch *at least* one gig, one restauraunt, 5 bars/pubs, chocolate! and something else..!8:42am : - yeah kat - & an Eclipse!...makes an astrology enthusiast nervous...
- Dave Cake all around for us !8:43am : This is the way to cover and really change up a tune, Mr. Havens!8:43am : @RR: Frank already took the cake.8:43am : It's a brisk morning but I'm going to visit mom and dad in the cemetery8:44am : Just as the sun breaks out, I get Mr. Havens and some serious flashbacks to time spent this time of year in SF. Perfect, nothing less.8:45am : MK - like how you think...
...Sitting on a stoop in SF made me really wish I could play acoustic guitar like Jorma...8:47am : burp!, pardon me...8:47am : ..or if you think you have the energy, Birthday fortnight!!8:48am : - more about the funds MK...8:49am : Happy birthday to you Rabbit8:49am : For once I'll have a nice birthday night! Tickets to see the Giants / Vikings game in MetLife stadium8:50am : Cheers Duke!
- & I hope this year brings you some satisfaction & pleasure, diabetic dave!8:50am : Not much time to get back into it, but I thought more about the "lateral" singing dingus discussed last week. What it really is is country "twang." Now I grew up in an area and with my dad's radio station playing that twang constantly. Thing is, I don't mind it when it is "authentic," meaning the person singing the twang -- male or female -- speaks in the same way and s/he sings. Has anyone ever heard Valerie June speak, and does she have a thick country twang?8:53am : - you mean a kind of mumble, kat? Not opening their mouth enuff? ?
...There's something about Contempo Country Pop40 that makes me think the accent is phony - but what does a Yankee/SoCalifornian like me know??...8:53am : Before it gets too late, thanks, Frank, for the many fine spins this morning!8:53am : good luck with the Giants.
Gettin' ready to bail. Thanks for the cool comments, and you'll hear me with my next webcast, same time, same zone. Or check for this webcast/playlist, in a few hours.
Pax humana.8:54am : "Having been several days in preparation, a splendid time is guaranteed for all." Thanks for this mornings offerings, Frank. See ya later!8:54am : Mumble's not exactly it, but not opening the mouth differently enough for the different vowel sounds, yep. Nasality is part of it, too.8:55am : ditto tat Kt330--( fine spins)
will dip into archives later-
have a good week- all8:55am : Thanks Frank!8:55am : WigKey says ValJ's from Tennessee...8:55am : Show, fxo!8:56am : And yes, that's why I dislike current country music.8:57am : But NOWadays, folks even from the hills hear normalized voices all their lives -- especially performing artists -- so the twang is never as authentic before media invaded every corner of the planet.9:00am : - here in NewHampshuh, I don't know why people speak the way they do, given that 'normalised voices' media exposure - did see one study said regional accents are *increasing*...hard not to judge them less intelligent, truthfully...9:04am : that's what he/said.9:08am : that's what "she/he" said. I'm finnished.
