Every show starts with the ’70s! We’ll rediscover forgotten rockers, revisit unfairly maligned disco beats and replay power-pop favorites. Next: plenty of new releases, occasional live bands and more. Don’t let the nickname confuse you.

October 16, 2013: the return of MAYHEM IN THE PM! 3 hours of power-pop, post-punk, new wave and punk from 1977-1982! (Studio of Tomorrow Campaign, week 3)
Listen to this show:
Pop-up player!
October is here, and as we've done the past couple of Octobers we here at WFMU are conducting a SILENT (shh!) fundraiser. I won't be talking about it during my show (well maybe one time, but only for a minute!), which means I'm depending on the written word to convince you to PLEASE PLEDGE!
You can find complete info about the Studio Of Tomorrow Campaign elsewhere on our website, but in brief we're asking for your help to build out a new 100-seat radio theater on the ground floor of WFMU's building in Jersey City. We need to get the space up to code and purchase basic equipment for the space so YOU THE LISTENER can join us for live sets by bands -- like the ones you'll hear tonight -- plus special live broadcasts, and other cool radio events.
This is the third of FIVE special shows this month to help get you excited about the Studio Of Tomorrow Campaign, to remind you of how awesome WFMU is (not to mention my show in particular? maybe?), and hopefully to motivate you to pledge. Tonight it's the return of Mayhem In The PM! Yes, it's another three hours of nothing but power-pop, post-punk, new wave and punk records (yes, RECORDS) from 1977ish through 1982, presented in a Top 40 style just like I used to do on WNYU's New Afternoon Show a long long time ago. You'll know some, you won't know others, but you'll love 'em all. And, for a change, this year's edition features NO media format restrictions! Singles and LPs will be mixing together, just like the old days.
If you've already pledged, THANK YOU! Your support is greatly appreciated. If not,
P L E A S E P L E D G E N O W !
Don't make me turn on the <blink> tag.
Stay tuned for more exciting special shows all month, and please take a moment to Like The Evan "Funk" Davies Show on Facebook and follow me on Twitter! Thank you.!

As Jim points out we're in the middle of our off-air Studio Of Tomorrow fundraising campaign, and now would be a great time to show your support and help us build out a public space on the ground floor to host band sessions, live performances and other special events (maybe a Mayhem in the PM Dance Party???). Please use the white box on the left to make a pledge now, or just click here: www.wfmu.org...
Thanks everyone!
