Street interviews, listener call-ins, vinyl gluttery, sporadic normalcy, original floperas and fiktion, blatant talking over songs, politix, tenderness, and a vague undercurrent of angst. Right up your alley!

Thanks to Fabio for sitting in with me on this show, and to the callers for calling in. I wasa bit unprepared, so I just had to bring in some halfbaked segments and some flea market finds and see what we could come up with. I had an entire story ready to go but, it wasn't really ready to go. I think I left the cassette at the station so, that story is gooooone forever. I don't want to think about the work lost there. Anyway ... sorry for the abbreviated episodic notes. Trying to catch up. Always remember.

I believe it was either the Wire or Magnet that mentioned WFMU when I lived in FL in '97. I used to go through the playlists and marvel at what was being played. Once the stream was ok enough (usually at work, while I was graduating college, when no one else was at the office, I would listen late at night, since my bandwidth at home couldn't handle the stream in '98. I believe it was it was Monica's show was the first I listened to live.

Night Al:

@ clayfan - Peter Demens, a Russian aristocrat from St. Petersburg, extended his Orange Belt Railway to John Williams' property. Legend has it that the two men flipped a coin to see who would name the new town. Demens won and named the new city after his hometown; Williams, as a consolation, name the first hotel in St. Petersburg, "The Detroit", after his birthplace.
