I finally have a car! I have NOOOOOOOOO money, but I have a 2002 Volvo wagon! Slightly dinged, faux leather interior ripped to shreds, left headlight cracked, driver's side window doesn't go down (thankfully it's up), can't move driver's side view mirror (THAT I have to fix) - BUT well loved, only 148,000 miles, well maintained by mechanic I know& trust, new tires, radiator, O2 sensor, timing belt, actually has AC, heat & defrost, blah blah . Dude who sold it to me cried (needs tuition money to get culinary degree at local community college to get loan to maybe open restaurant near my house) Told him he could visit 'Victoria' whenever he wants. He gifted me the Pogues cd he left in the player ;-)

@Glenn - asshole NC governor who *promised* to veto a REALLLY heinous anti-choice bill - and lied. And signed into law. NC now worse than Texas. If I didn't have a mortgage that I can't leave, I'd be so out of this state. In 6 months we've turned into Mississippi. Really, really, really bad things happening in North Carolina.

If we did, the GOP majority house & senate probably just got rid of. They also just axed early voting, student voting, ok'd fracking & mcmansion development near our primary water supply, cut unemployment benefits to nil (worst in the country).. I could go on but I will have a stroke & instead need to go take care of some innocent lil doggies, as George Coleman/Bongo Joe would say ;-)

Durham just as cool as Asheville. Love Asheville. Addicted to Roots' thai coconut curry hummus, good lord, my one carby thing that I can't give up!
